Ok greg thats more along the lines of what i'm want'n...i think
in your .ini you have the charcter buttons...how/where do you use them??

When I start ut I can press the appropriate key during the title screen, or if I join a game and decide to change characters I press the key and reconnect. So if I am my AM and I want to be a medic. I press 'M' then press tab and type 'reconnect' and I will reconnect to the server as my medic. ( I could have added the reconnect to the bind, but I would most likely hit the key by accident)

then under your eng binds.txt file it says it looks like to choose the artifact for diff sents/wall/turret, but referances another bind.txt...what do those look like???

They are in a weird state right now, because I just made level 15 loaded eng.
bind_killsent.txt:
Code:
 SelectShieldBlast

bind_wall.txt:
Code:
 SelectShieldBlast
 InventoryPrevious

 InventoryPrevious
 InventoryPrevious
 InventoryPrevious

 InventoryPrevious

bind_smblk.txt:
Code:
 exec binds/bind_wall.txt
 InventoryPrevious
 InventoryPrevious
 InventoryPrevious

basically the only bind command that is reliable is SelectShieldBlast.
from there each bind file will press the InventoryPrevious key however number of times needed to get to the correct item.
As trooper pointed out though, if you use the bind file to activate an item, it will not continue past activation.
The bind files are also good for making a toggle. For instance you can have a single key that will rotate through specific weps like shieldgun, flack, rocket.

Alice: Of course not, but that's because it stays the same year for such a long time together.
The Hatter: …which is just the case with mine.

'shot' is the in-game command and bind.

I use Xfire for screenshots instead... converts from bmp to png automatically, free hosting, and video capture too.

Default screenshot is F9. I dont see any other reason to map it to another key. But I'm sure it's in the list of keybinds somewhere.

My current skin After several other skins, I have reverted back to Bender.

Flak Monkey -> Berserker ( 818 )
Flak Junkie -> AM (60)
Monkey Wrench -> Engineer (27)

Try these:
GreySlash=togglescreenshotmode
GreyStar=freezeall
GreyMinus=shot
GreyPlus=lockcamera
NumPad9=playersonly
NumPad8=ghost
NumPad7=walk

hey guys its been awhile since i've posted enough of that.

I like the idea of being able to use Text executions to actually "increase" the amount of useable keybind space.

 E=exec binds\bind_eng.txt
 M=exec binds\bind_md.txt
 W=exec binds\bind_wm.txt

I have one question.
Would we be able to put binds onto a macro keyboard? And most inportantly have them funtion correctly.
I have a Logitect G15. Not cheap, but its a great Gaming Keyboard.

P.S. I have been on the server for the past few days. I had to start new chars due to me changing my CD key.
So I am no longer Swimy. =(
My medic is Jinkoo
and my Wep Master is Jinkoe

Hope to talk to some of you guys soon.

I would assume that some of those buttons would be:
Code:
 ...
 UnknownB8=
 UnknownB7=
 UnknownB6=
 UnknownB5=
 UnknownB4=
 UnknownB3=
 UnknownB2=
 UnknownB1=
 UnknownB0=
 UnknownAF=
 UnknownAE=
 UnknownAD=
 UnknownAC=
 UnknownAB=
 UnknownAA=
 UnknownA9=
 UnknownA8=
 ...

I would assign some random stuff (like horn strafe...etc to the keys in the game, then look in the user.ini and see which Unknown?? was assigned to the random stuff.

I have finished my script for creating bind files for engineer constructions.
I went ahead and ran it for each level.

Attached is a 7z archive of the script and the binds.
Let me know if there are any errors.

If you don't have a way to open 7z files, you can get 7zip at 7-zip.org
 Filename engineer_binds.7z [Disk] Download
 Description Engineer binds for loaded eng lvls 1-15
 Filesize 3 Kbytes
 Downloaded:  265 time(s)
