Ah yes, let's get back to big bangs and explosions. Star Wars: Episode III was certainly a return to form, but I couldn't help but laugh at a certain section towards the end of the film. I won't give it away to those who haven't seen it, but it happens during the resurrection of Anakin as a certain helmet wearing chap.
I've got to agree with you on that one my friend! (I guess that means I'm with you and not against you, right? Hummm, should that be signed jwb or george L? can't tell who came up with it first?LOL)

The last film to really impress me was Sideways - a modern day road movie incorporating that doesn't spiral into gross-out teen comedy or obvious jokes. The characterisations really push the human element of teh film, pushing it almost to be a kind of Thelma & Lousie for the male of the species. Good stuff!
Im sorry Ess but im ganna have to disagree with you BIG time on this movie. I thought it was the most horrible, disgusting show. Wasnt my type i guess. Just got boring among other things! But im actually starting to look forward to seeing Star Wars III! And yes a big WOOT to Willy Wonka!! I really want to see the oompa loompas!!

Man Ess-Jay. I can imagine you have some pretty strange dreams at night watching Eraserhead that much in that amount of time. I kinda wish you still have your "report." Would be interesting to see how someone else took it.
Another movie that is pretty interesting to watch is called "Memento." I think I may recall someone talking about it back in the earlier pages. If so, sorry for being so redudant. If not check it out. And if you get bored after watching it the first time, try to watch the movie backwards, it can kill a few hours of time

How exactly do you go about watching a movie backwards?

Watch the movie on a DVD and you will understand what I mean. One of the few movies I have ever watched where you truelly see the first minutes of the movie as the end of the story, and the end of the movie is the beggining of the story. Its about a man trying to discover who killed his wife if I remember right. Oh yea that leads me to the twist, everyday he wakes up not remembering what he did yesterday. He also can forget what happen minutes prior. Try solving a murder case with that condition.

Memento is truly a stunning piece of work. For some reason, the film actually loses its impact when you watch it in the correct sequential order. Just sit back, click your brain into the right frequency and enjoy!
Cha-Chi - Sadly, I can't find a copy of the essay. I'll try and contact my old colleage to see if they've still got a copy in their records. It's certainly not a coffee table read!

MEMENTO, what a phenomenal film. Guy Pierce did a fabulous job in that movie.
Can't help but think that if HalfLife was made into a movie, he would play Dr. Gordon Freeman.

Guy Pierce was in that? I'll definitely have to check it out.
While I'm posting, I got back a while ago from seeing Star Wars. I loved it! Everything makes so much more sense now! Some lines were a bit corny...R2D2 rocked! Especially at the beginning....hahaha, he rules. But yeah, now I need to watch the last three (or the first three depending on how you look at it). Thank you for the three day weekend!

Ok, so, I just have to share! Last night, I got all dressed up in my Batman attire and went to see the midnight showing after we got back from dinner for Mumsy's birthday...
Quoth the Comic Book Guy from the Simpsons, "Best movie EVER!" Chris Nolan did a great job. It was a lot darker than I was expected, but it was still just as good. If any of you don't know the plot, it's the story of how Bruce Wayne becomes Batman. And Nolan really showed what someone (a real person without powers) would have to endure to become a superhero.
Cillian Murphy made a wicked Scarecrow. Wicked in both senses of the word. Evil and awesome at the same time! He actually tried out for the part of Batman, but decided it didn't fit him. And it doesn't, he fits his part just fine. Howard Stern almost played this part....boy, am I glad he didn't.
Katie Holmes got on my nerves. (I'm probably biased since I wanted to jump off something really high when a friend made me see First Daughter...*gag* It was her birthday, I had no choice.) But I have to give her some credit though because she had brains...at least until she tried to fight off some bad guys.
There were a couple corny lines in there somewhere, but they didn't deflect from the awesome special effects, strong characters and great backgrounds! And the surprise twist just made it even better!
I wasn't too hot on the idea of Batman's new mode of transportation (nothing beats the Batmobile), but the Tumbler proved to be a pretty wicked ride.
The soundtrack was great too. Hans Zimmer worked on it (he also did Pirates of the Carribean). I'm just going to have to buy both the movie and soundtrack.
Ok, I'm done sharing! I hope you all go see it!!

Sounds sweet! I would like to go see it along with The War of the Worlds. Hopefully my town will have a double feature or something. But Hans Zimmer has made some of my favorite movie soundtracks, for example The Rock with Nicholas Cage and Sean Connery... if you haven't seen that one it's a good action flick on Alcatraz. It has an amazing soundtrack to that movie, there main song is very addictive. Well I'm glad we have a good batman on our hands after some time!

yes well, this is an OLD topic but hey, I joined a little while back and am REALLY bored right now, so here goes:
Boingo, in Batman Begins, his "new mode of transportation" isn't really his "new mode of trasportation"...it's his old one. He had that BEFORE he had his Batmobile.
A small list of movies includes Sgt. Bilko, the fast and the furious, 2 fast 2 furious (although the storyline wasn't that great, it had more action than the first) U-571 ( one of the best) X-Men, LOTRs, National Treasure...and that's enough for me.
P.S. the best quote comes from Sgt. Bilko "...what's that called again?" "A Full House" "Full House, what a cute name"
