I have three new albums that have really impressed me. I can't say that I really enjoy the bands, but these single albums have really stood out.

The first from a band named Stars and their album "In Our Bedroom After the War." The album won't be released on cd till September *sigh*, but it has been digitally distributed through say... itunes. It has a dark and mellow sound that really keeps me interested. I can't wait to buy the cd when it comes out.

The second album is "The Con" by Tegan and Sara. This is very unique. I haven't been a big fan of this group, but I've really enjoyed this album. It's been supported by Death Cab for Cutie and Weezer. It's worth a listen, especially since it's easy to tell if you're going to like this band after the first listen.

The last album is "23" by Blonde Redhead. I'd have to say that this album sounds like Keane mixed with Ladytron. It's also dark and mellow like Stars, but I love this album immensely.

Well, not so much obscure but yeah, Sum 41's new album "Underclass Hero" is awesome! 4 thumbs up!

Hamish: "Your island"? You mean Ireland?
Stephen: Yeah. It's mine.
Hamish: You're a madman.
Stephen: I've come to the right place then!

Ever bought a CD and realized all the embedded stuff in the lyrics? Yeah... that just happened to me.

Yeah, I love bands that do that. It's really cool to listen to multiple times then suddenly realize there's more depth to it.

I've definitely heard of Flyleaf, I like there song "All Around Me" and "Fully Alive"... good stuff. I can't say I've ever heard of The Birthday Massacre, but they are fantastic. I'm going to try and pickup their cd tomorrow if I can find it and they have a new one coming out Sept. 10th which I may check out as well. Cool finds!

Kiss Kiss

Dunno how to describe the sound. "Rock violin" is how it was introduced to me. It's got a classical feel, kind of like Queen. "Dress Up" is my favorite song.

Very cool find, these guys rock! Thanks for the tip! If you dig these guys, you may also dig:

Zox

More groovy/funky than Kiss Kiss, also a very talented violinist, great live show as well!

No actually I meant the bad kind of realization. Take Maroon 5's new CD. On the surface it sounds like weird 80's pop-ish, but listen to the lyrics towards the end of the CD and... ewww. Not recommended.
Unfortunately this is not the only CD in my collection like this.

Sweet! Said it before, sayin it again! Ya'll rock! That was one of the coolest things I've done on a vacation! Now, move to Utah, I'll do drums, you and PyRo can provide vocals and guitars.
