Wow, I'm really liking this group! The only problem though is their cd is about $30 since it's an import . They sound like a electronic Depeche mode... with a bit of The Bravery mixed in... nice find!

Another band that is not very well known is SR-71.

Yeah, if you like buckethead/primus, Claypool has quite a few side projects. Some others to check out:

Oysterhead
Colonel Claypool's Bucket of Bernie Brains
Sausage
Colonel Les Claypool's Fearless Flying Frog Brigade
Les Claypool and the Holy Mackerel

Some are really good! Oysterhead puts Les in with Stewart Copeland from the Police, and Trey Anastasio from Phish. An interesting mix, but if you like claypool, you'll love this stuff.

As for SR-71, I love 'em! I thought it was sad that they got bombed as a pop-punk band because of their first single. The rest of that CD sounds so much different (and better, imho) than "Right Now". I love that whole album. Their latest one was great too. Too bad they didn't make it...

This week has been all about Bright Eyes for me tho. They have a new CD comin out on the 10th of Apr. w00t!

cheers.

I actually have checked out buckethead awhile back... I think I have a few of their songs too. And I've really liked The White Rose Movement, I got lucky and a friend had the cd so I was able to get a copy from him.

But, recently I found two bands, Sleepthief and Blue Stone. Both are soothing types of music, much like Delerium or Enya. I don't think they're as good as those two, but they're still interesting works.

I remember seeing Enya live on TV during new years. It was pretty much the most awkward thing I've ever seen.

I happened to stumble upon this artist... Alexander Blu. It's a bit like Tangerine Dream, smooth, melodic, and relaxing. He has six albums up that are all free to download. I've really enjoyed May and Moderato.

Wow dude, awesome find! Love Sleepthief, very mellow and tasty! Blue Stone is pretty cool too, but almost too "club" sounding...Kindof a Delerium meets t.A.t.U. feeling

Sleepthief's cover of Send Me an Angel from Scorpions was awesome tho! Takes a lot of talent to cover a rock song in electronica, they pulled it off well, imho!

You may want to give Amethystium or Conjure One a listen as well, fits into the same genre. Conjure One is actually the side project of the female vocalist from Delerium, awesome stuff!

Still not too sure bout this guy tho...maybe he'll grow on me. "Spider" from the May album was pretty cool.

My find for this week: Russian Circles.
They're an instrumental metal trio. Very very cool stuff, opening for Tool's UK tour.

Aaanyway, I'll shaddup now.

cheers.

Had a music sharing party with a couple of friends yesterday. Picked up some Electric Light Orchestra and Mika. Kinda fun and funky.

Though they aren't really obscure, I bought Lifehouse's newest CD that just came out last week. I think I'm going to glue it into my car's CD player slot. So good.
