Just saw GI Joe today. I heard on the radio that you have to put yourself in like a 9 year old mind-set. And I can see where the guy got that. The movie was pretty cool action wise but it was definitely more for younger kids. I don't know how to explain it really. The parts where the bad guys are talking about their plans made me laugh sometimes, because thats where you can tell the movie was made more for younger kids.

I wouldn't say don't go see this movie, but it wouldn't be the first one on my list of movies to tell you to go see either..

These arent movies but shows we picked up on DVD and I thought I would share for those who may want to see these.

From the SciFi channel (now syfy, bad move) Farscape. 5 seasons with a movie to wrap up the series. Well done and balanced. Not a real serious feel to the thing, kinda like the old Buck Rogers with a little bit of muppets. But enjoyable.

From HBO, Six Feet Under. I've seen previews of this on regular tv, but never had HBO to see what it was like when it was on. My wife loved it and turned me onto it when she bought the box set for last Christmas. Excellent cast and story with some twisted views into the world of a funeral home family business.

Also from HBO, Carnivale. Very well done, sucks you in right at the beginning and you want to keep watching. The cast and writing is just wonderful and the entire concept of the story is very intriguing. But the series was cut short after 2 seasons which caused a huge uproar from fans. So far, no word if it will continue or if they would wrap up things with a mini series. We hope they do. We are in the middle of season 2.

We are looking into another HBO series, Rome. Another series that was cut short even though it had a ton of awards, as Carnivale did. Perhaps with the awards come higher costs for the cast wanting more money, and HBO doesn't want to pay the increased cost. I don't know. But why get rid of a good thing.

My current skin After several other skins, I have reverted back to Bender.

So I wanted to add to this, just in case people were hesitant on renting this when it comes out. First off I was extremely nervous about this movie because the trailers made it look dreadful. I'm a huge GI Joe fan so was worried this would ruin childhood memories heh. But anyway, I thought it was fantastic, it's a great action flick and the story was classic GI Joe. There are those few moments for kids but otherwise I thought it was well made. Best part for me is that they integrate all the Joe's history throughout the movie, so you get to see their origins which is really great. So wayyyyyy better than the previews, worth seeing!!!

So I went and saw Paranormal Activity.... Highly disappointed The only scary part was like the last 90 seconds of the movie...and it wasnt even that scary... I wouldnt even recommend renting it unless you had a couple hours you needed to kill.... 3/10 rating

I saw this too over the weekend and I'm actually on the opposite side. I didn't think it was really scary, but suspenseful and creepy. I simply enjoyed it because the actors are great and ghosts/demons are more interesting to me than say a traditional horror flick. If you go in expecting to see the "scariest movie ever" as it's been deemed I'd say you may not like it heh... but it's generally just creepy, and the last few minutes are crazy. So not too scary, I just enjoyed it overall...like watching an episode of Ghost Hunters that's more intense.
