Haven't had a chance to see it just yet, the big man will be home tomorrow, so maybe we will go this weekend, but I have to ask what's with the controversy about some "racial robots"? Is it as bad as the media is making it out to be? If anyone can answer without giving too much away....

I honestly thought they were pretty funny. I can see where people are having issues with it but to me, it wasn't a big deal. You'll just have to go see for yourself

To be Honest I'm into the movie for reasons besides the cars... And I love the camaro and would buy one if I was rich. But have you seen that corvette?!?!?! it's SOO cool!!!! BTW the movie is just as good the 2nd time as it is the first

So I just saw Transformers in Imax and I gotta be honest... I wasn't that thrilled. I thought the forest scene was pretty sweet, but overall I didn't think it was great. The movie is pretty much solely action, which isn't bad, but sometimes a bit too much. The movie looked amazing and the action was a bit less confusing than the first movie (clearer on what robot was doing what to another robot haha), but I just thought it wasn't nearly as good as the first. I was pretty pumped for this movie, but I thought some of the lines/scenes not involving robots were just ridiculously laughable at times. I apologize for being so harsh on a pretty popular movie heh, but loved the first, not so much a fan of this one.

I'll agree with you on the dialogue. The action parts of the movie were pretty good, like you said. I could of done without the whole college part of the movie. One could watch this movie just for the action because the actual people in the movie aren't that great of actors. Still, it was entertaining to watch.

China begs to differ with you (Cham and Pyra). Transformers 2 is something like the best selling movie in the nation's history.

Geez... I need to see the movie.

We just rented the Watchmen the other night. It wasnt as good as I thought it would be, but it was still OK. I would rate it the same. It probably didnt appeal to me as much as some hard core comic fans. I enjoy the movies made from comic books, just dont like comic books.

We saw the "new" X Files movie last night. Rented that one (yes, we dont get out much and just now started renting movies as we have run out of things to do) It too was not as I thought it would be. I wanted aliens dang it! But it was nice to watch. Give it the same rating 7.5 / 10

We just burned thru the stack of movies we bought the other night.
Narnia 2 (I like the first one better, but still good)
Bucket List - Excellent!
Next - Great story
Dark Night - Best batman yet
Firewall - Great movie (and after just completing my security+, it meant more to me than if I hadn't.)

We also just saw Knowing. Wife was disappointed, calling it Predictable. I enjoyed it, but you do get most of the plot from the previews so maybe she was right. But it was still pretty good.

I still need see both Transformes movies, and the new Harry Potter.

i heard the new potter was a major dissapointment if your a fan of the books. and im a potter-pedia. so im kinda avoiding it. number 5 was good but it REALLY ticked me off when they did the hall of prophecy scene. i wont get started on it all but i think ill go this weekend to see it. wombat says he will be in a diff theatre so he doesnt have to hear the sighs and scoffs lol!!

and ya the knowing was good up until the ending. where it was totally lame. but thats just me!

some other ones that are coming out that look good are:

Old Dogs- comedy

The Hurt Locker- action

Brothers- Drama (ive never seen Toby Maguire look so mean)

Alice in the Wonderland!!!!-awesomeness

Book of Eli-sci-fi action

Where the wild things are!- family action adventure

Sherlock Holmes- action adventure

The Way We Get By- Documentary

The Hangover-comedy

thats it for now! enjoy and let me know what you think!

EDIT: I took off the links cuz i wasnt sure if posting them was server friendly so better to be safe than sorry! i love you guys and would hate to get banned for posting previews! but you should still look em up!!

I've been catching up on my DVD releases and here's my take on a few:

Taken - liked it a lot. Great story and Liam Neeson did a good job. Exciting and suspenseful.

Time Crimes - a foreign sci-fi w/ English dubs. It's a time-travel story and was quite entertaining for an indie film. Recommended for fans of the genre.

Burn After Reading - I am a huge Coen bros. fan, but I'd have to say I have been disappointed by their last two films - this one and No Country for Old Men. No Country was great until the ending. Sequel? Burn After was very disappointing. It seemed to be their attempt at a comedy and ended up being only mildly so. They need to go back to the Blood Simple days.

Knowing - I dunno what it is about Nicholas Cage, but I find him very entertaining. It doesn't seem to matter how lame the story or premise of the film, but he makes the movies better. The National Treasure movies were hokie but entertaining. And isn't that what matters? Knowing was predictable but still fun to watch.

The International - Great espionage/thriller movie. Clive Owen did a great job. Worth seeing.

Have a few more to watch still. Don't go to theaters much at all anymore. Having a nice home entertainment center defeats the purpose. I did see the Dark Knight in true Imax and it was the best action movie perhaps ever made.

The next two movies I will probably see in the theater are Tron Legacy (can't wait!) and Jame's Cameron's new movie Avatar. Avatar will be in 3-D, and is rumored to be a film which will change the theater experience for a long time to come.

Cheers!

Any thoughts on the new Fast and Furious movie? other than mine which I would give it a 15/10. It's AWESOME!!!!!!!! For those of you who don't know this is the 4th one, but they brought the cast of the first one back...

Saw the new HP flick last weekend. I liked it, but I can see why people have been turned off to it. It seems less like a Harry Potter film and more like a generic cheeky teen comedy.

I think I forgot to post about Watchmen way back when I saw it...
I was really looking forward to this movie even though I never read the novel, but wow. Just... wow. There were things in that movie that I wish I could unwatch. Despite the weird parts, I still thought it was ok.

Anyone see GI Joe yet? Looked cool. Remember watching the cartoon as a kid. Was curious how they adapted it to movie form.
