Exploding turrets crashing the server  XML

This morning the server crashed just as my minigun turret exploded with another player in it. The other player was a weapons master.
The server has crashed many times in the past when turrets explode.
I don't know if it has crashed when the turret is being used by its owner or an engineer.
I suspect there might be an issue with other classes using turrets and dying.

I haven't heard that one reported before.

Was this on DC? If so, can you post an approx time so hopefully one of the admins can post the crash description from the UT2004.log file.

this does sound familiar..don't have a turret for my engineer yet but

I do recall many recent crashes in later (15-16) waves that seem to coincide with turret destruction.

It was on DC.
It was on map: DM-Flat-Final
and it occurred at about 2:45am (UTC -5 hours) according to my logs.

It happened with a minigun turret, but I think I recall it happening with ball turrets too

Any chance Druid, Shan or an admin could post the crash message please, and I'll look into it.

Im not certain if the update was to fix this problem as there was a recent update...
But this is still happening...It happened the other day as well as today around a lil past 1pm eastern time (FL time) on the map Colonial

Nah, as far as I can tell the update was to release fixes already mentioned
  • Stop vehicle eject working in space
  • Armor regen and vampire to work in vehicle turrets
  • bug of defense sentinel repeatedly targeting exploding redeemer

    There was also a quarter size paladin put into the code, but I don't know if the configuration was changed so the engineer's would spawn it or not.

    I haven't been able to reproduce the "turret crashing server" bug, and no-one has sent me copies of the crash logs so I can see what the cause is. So, for the moment I can't fix.

    seems to me it may be when a player without vehicle eject skill dies in a turret is when the server crashes. as I have seen this specifically happening at least once hope this helps

    I had the same thing happen Road. I was healing my turret with a non-egnineer in it that did not have eject, when we were swarmed by warlords and I lost the turret. This is when the server reset.

    I am sorry, but I do not know the time and date. I think it was Tuesday (4/15) night though.

    were you healing the turret when you lost it? I wonder if that is the key to recreating the bug since so many times there is always an engineer linking a turret.

    i saw this a couple of times i wondered y the server crashed but i saw multiple turrets get destroyed and then it crashes

    Greg, I have had multiple turrets die with people in them while I was healing the turret, but only had it crash the server once. I will try to watch for more details next time like what wave, what type of turret, etc. in an attempt to better define the problem.

    crashing always seem to occur in later waves 12 and on
    that's what I've noticed for sure

    Is it one particular monster, like a null warlord. Or is it the "nulling" effect, so could be null warlords or poison queen webs?

    Or is it just that turrets don't get destroyed much before wave 12 (except titan waves)

    Is it just minigun turrets, or has it ever occured in a different turret?
