SubClass Balance Issues in release 224  XML

Can we log here all balance issues with the subclasses since the 224 release. Thanks.

Well My concerning is about Turret specialist,

I see they are the weakest class, why?
Well here are my points of view:

1- They cant spawn turrets in areas like small rooms and hallways. for example in places where is a base made ( small rooms ) they are unable to spawn a turret there and IF they spawn a turret outside of the base they will get killed in seconds in higher waves.
What could resolve the problem here is to make turrets smaller, really smaller

2- Turrets cant hold a lot of hits and they die so fast, they cant move as a normal player to dodge or hide from enemy fire

Maybe giving them more health or advance damage reduction only applied to turrets would be nice, they lack of defense sentinels to protect themselves. OR maybe Shield activation.

3- Sometimes when they spawn a turret in a room there is a problem regarding monster targeting, sometimes the monsters dont appear in the room selected and they have to unsummon and summon another turret in another room. Sometimes the point of view of the turret to target monsters is not good enough because the translocator was placed in a bad angle.

What could help is giving the turrets the ability to have legs, legs?? YEah!! Just add them legs and they will be just like a Mecha!! They will move slow just like tank but they can walk between rooms and find a good spot to shoot monsters at or maybe covering for enemy fire without destroying the turret and then spawn it again. Imagine a Ball turret walking slowly looking to kill some monsters, maybe they could fly or jump higher than a player because they are machines but they will be slow, could be the new enginner tank or something like that.They will move slow so the linkers can follow it without a problem of linking range.


Defense Turret: Maybe some players dont want to be offensive but defensive there is an option for them, creating a turret just like the turret ball turret that can spawn in front of it a big shield that covers players from enemy fire, IT can be moved to any direction of the turret driver to cover fire, enemy fire cant penetrate the shield but teammates fire can shoot from inside of it to outside without a problem, the shield has ammo and it can last for a long time but It has to be recharged, they get exp from all the enemy fire covered. More exp than def sents.

while true about the turret issue the fix you suggest is a massive coding job and can cause all sorts of probs! now a very small shock turret would be sweet to have and being small it can go into places the others can't. but since this is a basically brand new type of turret it needs to be designed and coded (wish I knew how) but that would be a fix

I may be getting old and falling apart but I can sure can raise Hell and have fun doing it!

All SubClasses have their strengths and weaknesses. And the effectiveness of any SubClass will be affected by the other SubClasses on.

Before I think about adjusting any SubClasses I want more detail about how much XP they are actually scoring. Have we any actual feedback from players who have played the Turret Specialist?
Has anyone played it in release 224?

The Extreme classes seem to be balanced nicely
as for the sub-classes they are hard to judge as they are generally weaker (less of the more powerful skills available) than the true class
and therefore are harder to compare.That being said they could be very useful to lower level characters, as they will give them a better chance to survive because of their flexibility

the poison blast for Extreme Medics is a nice addition gives them some damage potential

My main thoughts on Extreme AM are that I can still easily get into a position where I run out of adren using the beam, or where I cannot fire it, even when surrounded at point blank by say titans, with it either telling me I cannot reuse it yet, or it just does not seem to fire. Add in the fact that all the while, the adren is being chewed up to keep my shields up, and when I finally ghost, I come back with no or almost no adren... Extreme AM has a pretty critical vulnerability. I cannot say, however, whether or not it is balanced against say Engineer or Turret Master, I cannot say from personal observation, other than to say that scores do not appear to have changed much from our norms... I am scoring somewhat higher and consistently, but that could very easily be my having shifted to a hybrid of my old plain AM style to one which included the beam much much MUCH more than I used to (which is to say, I never used the beam before)... I may have to reset to a plain AM and try my current style to see how much it differs for me.

And a question... when a WM of any type ghosts... do their weapons get reloaded with ammo??

Ok, playing my regular wm, I've noticed that my shield is not working. It can be healed up to the max but it does not build itself up.

Shields don't normally heal themselves, unless you have the Engineer's Shield Regen ability. Otherwise you have to keep picking up the Shields and SuperShields.

I didn't say that very well. What is happening is the "shields up" is not working.

The pickups are fine. I do not start with shield and the only way I get shield is by either pickup or healing.

That's the way it has always worked isn't it? Except for when people have shield regen.

Ryuxen mentioned earlier that the turret specialist seemed to lack mobility. what if the turret master could summon multiple turrets and switch between them using for example space bar. he could then place a number of turrets around the map, and be able to switch between them depending on where the actions was. he could choose between either spending all his turret points on one, powerful turret, or lots of weaker ones, depending on the map. it would work a bit like the turrets on the space ship assault map, where you can switch between multiple turrets on the spaceship. i think the maps called AS-motherhsip.

ok now what if someone is in one of the turret that you try to switch to??

I may be getting old and falling apart but I can sure can raise Hell and have fun doing it!
