The firing rate is the standard firing rate for the ion cannon turret - I haven't changed it. It might be possible to speed it up. Currently, ignoring DB/DR, the max damage it will do is 600, when not linked. When linked it will obviously do a lot more. If it fires too fast, it will be overpowered. I am not entirely happy that the animations for the turret fit in with the firing correctly, so am not sure how changing the firing rate will upset things. I might try to speed the firing rate slightly, or if not increase the damage slightly. But I think it is quite powerful as it is.

The link turret works using standard linking code, not with the special "engineer linking" code that I added for the other turrets. Which means it works slightly differently - e.g. anyone can link and gain experience. I could change to work the same way the others do, but there will be a lot of work involved since I am fighting against the inbuilt code. If it really becomes a problem, then I will change to link the same way as the other turrets, or just remove the link turret. But no quick fix I am afraid.

I'm sorry to say szlat but its not really that powerful, I agree when linking, it will increase the damage it does, so at the moment I have no problem with the damage it is currently dealing but the speed at which it fires is the problem. The points speak for themselves, the other day I was with level 100's and I in the ion cannon mainly to prove a point. I was second or third in rank with a score of about 500-600 in about wave 11 with the other I believe was Dallas had about a score in the 1100 or 1200. Also Zog was there with a score of about 600-700, he is in the level 190 or so also surpassing me by a few points but using a energy turret. Is the problem noticeable? If you require screenshots, then next time I will post them.

ps. also with the other subclasses in the engineer class I normally score at least 2k points, or even this subclass when I use a different turret.

ok here's a fix to the one of the problem's we got.....NERF ELITE!!!!!!!!! that way he'll get score's like everyone else!

I may be getting old and falling apart but I can sure can raise Hell and have fun doing it!

Ok so before the Skilled Weapons subclass and the tank subclass were able to pick up the rod, but now they can't. I don't think that the rod with those classes were being too powerful, well at least I know the tank would kind of need it.

Also for the engineer and any subclass that is able to make an energy wall; I don't see the energy wall being put up at all. And I can't blame them when it cost as much as a sentinel, as szlat has said before to wait and see how it all turns out. But as time has passed those energy walls have been used far less. If anyone has played ut3 they would know what I am going to suggest. In ut3 there is a cube shaped gelatin filled slow motion device, its purpose is to slow down the movement of anything that passes in its way even projectiles, whether it be vehicles or people. Now what this energy wall can do instead of act as a force field that repels monsters, it could allow them in but greatly reduce their speed. This would allow for anyone to pick them off, and if no one kills them they would die due to the constant damage they would be taking inside the cube which should be the same or minimal. If this tweak is not possible, perhaps there are other ways to fix the problem.

Ive been testing out the general class, and I think their vamp needs at least 1 more level to be level 3 maxed. But then the WM hybrids should have also 1 more level around level 5 maxed vamp. If there was no general class I would say to leave it at level 4 vamp for the hybrid but having it at level 2 for the general class is a tad weak. Besides 1/4 of vamp would be around 2.5 levels which could round off to 3.
