Recently saw Semi-Pro... and was so disapointed! For a Will Ferrell movie, it was a complete let down... it gets a mere 3/10 in my opinon.... to redeem Mr.Ferrell, I had to watch Blades of Glory again, BigDaddy hadn't seen it yet, love it! Blades of glory get a 9/10 for me because I absolutely loved the humor in it! It may not be everyone's cup of tea tho.

Also watched Untraceable, I was suprised to find that I rather enjoyed it.
It's a pretty good thiller flick, acting is alright in the movie, but it's not a "B" movie and it keeps you interested as you go along. I would recommend renting it when given a chance. I give it a 7/10.

Cham and I saw Wanted yesterday. I enjoyed it, but towards the middle and the end it got a little 'dramatic' I guess. There were a couple things that seemed corny, but the first half was awesome! I just love Angelina Jolie...she totally kicks butt. There are a couple twists that made me think "whoa!" I'd say a 5ish/10.

I also watched Breakfast at Tiffany's which was a fun little movie. Definitely a twist from Wanted. Nowadays, movies are all action and/or gore, but back in the day you really had to pay attention to the dialogue! I thoroughly enjoyed Audrey Hepburn and who knew George Peppard was such a stud before the A-Team?! Awesome movie....I've decided I need to watch more of them.

Saw a few more, heres the thunks!

Aliens VS. Predator : Requiem - 4/10
Well, being a total fan of Aliens & Predators my whole life, this was a huge letdown. All 4 of the points I gave it go to visual, which was still lacking. Easily the worst and also most disturbing of the franchise.

Shoot 'Em Up - 6.5/10
Check your brain at the doors and prepare yourself for one extremely far out action flick. Almost the same level of overkill as Crank, tho not quite as much fun. Cast was excellent tho, Paul Giamatti plays a fantastic crazy bad guy and Clive Owen nailed his role as well. The dialog is about as corny as it gets, which makes it even more fun if you didn't come in for anything more than a fun ride. Needless to say, it earned it's 'R' rating.

The Spiderwick Chronicles - 9/10
I was very pleasantly surprised by this movie. Its a great fantasy story for kids, but has plenty to keep older kids (aka adults) entertained as well. Funny and scary with fantastic CGI and a great cast of both actors and voice actors. Great show and doesn't take itself too seriously.

Anyway, thats all for now!

Wall-E was excellent. I shall never doubt Pixar again. Me and my friends were wondering how they would be able to pull it off without having dialogue for more than 50% of the movie, but the little robot languages they used never felt overused or out of place. If you liked any of the other Pixar movies, you'll like this one too. 10/10

I get a kick out of the oldies too, especially if they have classy babes in them. I would have a tough time getting clueless to sit down and watch one with me though, she is not the movie buff I am.

Audrey in Tiffany's is one of my favorites. The best to me though was My Fair Lady.

Check out Gigi with Eva. It is a definite classic story and cool movie.

If you want something a little quirky but fun to watch, try Arsenic and Old Lace with Cary Grant.

Thanks Dr. Wayno! I've seen My Fair Lady and loved it. Arsenic and Old Lace is now on Netflix!

'Wanted' was ok. The first half of the movie wasn't bad, but after that, the movie goes off on a huge tangent. The acting was ok and the action was a cross between 'The Matrix' and any other action flick. Overall, I'd give the movie a 4.5 or 5 out of 10. The first half I would go up to 7 or 7.5, though. I would say wait and rent it.

I've actually seen that 'Somewhere in Time' movie. It was actually pretty good and this is coming from a guy. Well, at least Boingo still says I am.

New movieses!

Untraceable - 7/10
This was an interesting suspense thriller about a killer that uses the internet to stream live video of the torture of various people. It is pretty harsh and keeps you on edge, tells a pretty good story too! Acting was great I thought, very creepy. It is rather disturbing though, watching this and then taking a step back and seeing how desensitized we have become. Thought it was a good 'social indight' movie.

The Last Mimzy - 9/10
I totally loved this movie. Fantastic children's tale, with a good chunk of intellectual and theory ties for adults as well. Acting/cast was awesome, the 2 kids do a great job. Visual effects and sound were excellent. Really makes you think! Good sauce.

out for now.

cheers.

So the big one's here, Batman: The Dark Knight. I won't go into detail so no spoilers here, but this movie is incredible.

I saw the movie at 11:30 last night and it was well worth the pre-ordering tickets and line to get in. I've enjoyed all but one Batman so far (Batman & Robin, ehhh), but I must say this is by far my favorite. The Dark Knight has obviously been hyped due to Heath Ledger's sad passing, but also his performance in the movie. Ledger's Joker is possibly the best villain I have ever seen in a movie, the depth he gives the character is amazing. The movie is very dark and often creepy. The story line unfolds very well and feels more realistic than planned out. The film is PG-13, but due to the violence and disturbing nature of Ledger's Joker I'd be hesitant on bringing anyone younger than that to this movie.

Overall, the film goes beyond expectations and gives fans what they want, but at the same time being completely surprising throughout. The action is fast paced, the story is well crafted, the acting is superb, and the dark humor is well timed. This is the best film I have seen in theaters in a long time and is one of the best superhero movies I've ever seen, if not the best. I highly recommend it... 10/10, you will not be disappointed!

Boingo and I saw the new Batman movie on the IMAX screen. It was deffinately an above average movie with good acting. Heath played Joker very well. It was the small things he did in his actions, not just his diologue that made his character stand out. Christian was ok. He isn't horrible, but I don't think he is the greatest actor out there. The actions sequences were not too bad, but they were definitaly rushed except for one of them. The movie kinda jumped around a lot as if they cut out sequences which makes me wonder if there will be a director's cut on video perhaps. I do like how they continue to show that Batman is a person that has to deal with not just the bad guys, but personal issues. Makes him more believable. However, I went into the movie with really high expectations after everyone I've talked to has told me it was the greatest movie they've seen. I was just expecting more and didn't get was I was hoping for. Oh, it wasn't the movie itself, but the music was drowning out the dialogue of the movie. I've heard this from a few other people that saw it on IMAX.
6.5 to 7/10 from me.

I spoze I'll drop in my 2 cents for The Dark Knight. I loved it! I can't give it a 10/10 just because of a couple batman monologues but I'll give it a very high 9.8! It's just his manufactured voice that kinda killed anything over 1 line for me. That aside I thought it was awesome. The last bit got a little forced but certainly not enough to hurt the film. I found a review in IGN that covers the bases far better than I could without any deep spoilers...

http://movies.ign.com/articles/884/884876p1.html

Anyway, give it a watch! We saw it on a digital screen, non-IMAX. I've now heard a few people (including the review writer) who though the IMAX experience was detrimental to the movie.

And mad props the Heath. He owned that role!

cheers.
