I was telefragged by somebody using the teleporter artifact today. I just happening to be standing where it teleported the other player. It's never worked very well in the first place and I don't know anyone that actually uses it. Either it teleports you 2 feet or it teleports you up in the air. So, can we get rid of it or fix it.

I've never used it and I never hear of anyone using it. I definitly wouldn't be against scrapping it.

I telefragged someone a couple days ago.
The way this artifact could be cool is if it worked like the trans but couldn't be destroyed by monsters. So you set it somehow and that's your safe spot. But it would have to be single-use if that were the case, or the time delay would have to be greater, maybe 3 seconds instead of 1, or the adren cost would have to be higher. Also, I think it should act like a player pawn, in that you can't put it right next to a deemer or in a camping location. Maybe it gets counted out and returns to you or something.
The strategy possibilities could be great under the right conditions. In multi-z-access maps, you could place your teleporter two or three levels up, or across the map, or whatever. When you see the radar light up there, you teleport over. That kind of thing.

I use it. I don't often have my trans set in a safe place to get out too, so I use it when I've got four queens on top of me.

I vote against ditching it, it has limited use but in those circumstances its very useful.

I also use it when I'm falling off a map.
With the ability to bind it to a key upcoming, it will become invaluable to my LA character.

I think it will be more useful when you can bind it to a key. Especially when you're falling somehwhere or surrounded by monsters.
It's not supposed to kill people though. It has code that checks before the player moves. Sometimes the game is imprecise though. You can even sometimes be telefragged by the same team's translauncher.

The fundamental problem is this: The first word we learn as children is NO. From that point forward society teaches women that saying no isn't polite, and society teaches men to respect those who wont take no for an answer.

Can't the telefrag code be modified itself to temporarily make players intangible to each other until they break apart? My point is that the telefragging is what we're trying to stop, but our attempts are all indirect.

Never underestimate the power of the teleporter artifact. It may seem useless at times, but it could be the only thing that saves your butt from oblivion if your trans go's out and you know that it's out, but yet there is nothing that you can do.
