You'd get:

All positive weapons, at max +

Requirements/cost:

Level 100 (150?) and 50 pts

Honestly after LW5, there wouldn't be a great need for this, but it would be cool, since LW players cannot in any way max their own weapons.

Sounds a good idea

It seems to me that might take a little of the advantage out of being a LA player.

Not if it "max pluses" on only the weapons you spawn with. They may or may not get their favorite weapon maxed, Some people may like a Flak +5 others may like the Freezing Flak +6.

I've heard some high level players don't have anything to spend their stats on other than things they don't want.

Also, it seems to me that if the only thing good about being a LA is being able to max weapons, then it's a bit of a lame class. The MaxModifier ability alone won't compensate for lack of Vampire.

However, if this goes ahead it will leave LAs even further disadvantaged to LW players, in that they will have to spend 150 times 3 adrenaline to get their best three weapons maxed - which will be a delay the LWs don't have.

So, we would need to think of something extra to give to higher level LAs to compensate.

I think one thing that would help LAs is more adrenaline. More adrenaline would make them be able to triple/globe/double a lot more freqently, which would make them a lot more powerful. At the risk of going off thread, if the Adrenaline Drip had a couple of extra levels, and still granted adrenaline during a combo/artifact use, then that would definitely compensate the LAs for the LW6.

As i already said, what would compensate is different artifacts for different effect. Not dropable.

Null Entropy Weapon Maker,
Freezing,
Energy,
etc, etc.

Just dont do a Vorpal, one.

I can give you some examples if you want, but IMO, I think these classes are extremely well-balanced. If you look at the top players from each class that maximize the potential, you see that sometimes the LA class wins and sometimes the LW class wins. With roughly equal skill levels, it often comes down to the map (big, small, wep selection, etc) and who just plain hustles more.

In terms of advantages/disadvantages between the two classes, the biggest is the triple damage, IMO. LW players get one maybe 1/4 - 1/2 of the time while LA players get it 100% of the time.

But I really want to encourage interaction between the classes. I dont really want a LW player to be able to do this without help

The fundamental problem is this: The first word we learn as children is NO. From that point forward society teaches women that saying no isn't polite, and society teaches men to respect those who wont take no for an answer.

A logical, acceptable answer. I wouldn't have wanted LW 6 without some major hoops anyway. Thinking about it now, even level 100 and 50 pts for purchase limitations seems weak - maybe level 300 and 100 pts, when you have nothing else to spend it on ...

But yeah, interaction between classes is good.

Just need more LA players out there. These days there seem to be fewer LA's than medics.

Good response. Focus on team play.
So, if medics give out healing, and LAs give out maxed weapons, what do LWs give out?
(I am not criticising the LWs as people here - they are a generous bunch and share what they have, but none of their abilities are primarily focused on benefiting others - except perhaps LW5 providing good weapons for sharing, but even then a LA can max a better one. Or is it just a 'taking' class?)

Hey, the medics have to heal someone

I don't think many players realize that you can throw a magic weapon (without an asterix) and when you hit the weapon spawn, you'll pick it up again. I didn't; now that I do, I'll be sure to hand out good weapons when I come across them.

I think the LW players' role in this is not to share anything necessarily, but to lead the charge on the front lines because they never have to go find anything or rely on other people to stay alive as much as the other two classes. They help keep the other two classes alive by fighting in the front.

Yes, I have heard that suggested before. However, there isn't really a 'front line' - the monsters spawn everywhere. Some places are busier than others, but unless you hide in a corner somewhere you have to fight regardless of your class. And rightly so.

Because of vampire, LWs can fight more 'up close', and live longer without having to run away. And so get more xp. But that cannot really be counted as helping the others to stay alive. It's not like they are protecting medics or LAs - they are usually playing as individuals killing all the bugs they can.

When they need healing or want a weapon maxed, they will seek out the medics and LAs, but otherwise will typically ignore them. Now not all LWs are like this - typically they are a great bunch. But what I am trying to suggest is that nothing in their ability list encourages them to share anything, or be team players, and perhaps there ought to be.

Sorry, getting a bit off thread here

They typically have extra weapons to hand out, sometimes to the LA players who will max em and play with em
