I'm posting this here for anyone interested
hoping to create a walking "turret"/vehicle for use here at DC

first coupla hours of work done one the model mostly legs



starting on some ideas for the chassis/frame hoping to hide most of the body/model of character (very early idea for now will change significantly with further work)



the "balls" at the joints are going to glowing balls of energy
wanted to stay away from looking too much like the star wars version

blushes and shrugs it's something I've been looking at for a while was going to do a Lego Star Wars version as a model originally

BUT it's not guaranteed that it will a: ever work in game as a vehicle b: be accepted as a mod here (I'm hoping though) c:ever get finished (but I'm pumped about making it)

some more work
I've decided to go with a body half encased in glass like a jet fighter (kinda)
going to add some machine guns things to the sides and a central laser (or other weapon) to the front
when coded it will probably be a single weapon Mech though



need to get positioning right for model (in "driving position"so that will change the shape yet ) this was to get an idea for sizing



will try to link up to the animation soon and then get a look at it in game as a model/character . do some adjusting .
then fine tune (add more "stuff" )

then the hard part the coding still a long way off for that though

yeah I guess so
its kinda a generic looking Mech look without arms (I may do an armed version later though)
I want to keep it fairly simple for now and add some neat effects when I skin it, thinking of black with hod rod flames some glowing effects and the "cockpit" will be transparent (Hopefully)

as elite said i think a "robot" like the one in matrix would be better and cooler however since i dont even know a little about coding its up to u road

Looks quite good. While you get the final vote on it, i think maybe continuing on the jetfighter look with the mech. (partial arms)

maybe not go with the full arm lengths (half might look nice) and have kind of stabilizer looking fins for the weapon housings. either that, or ahve the mini's shoulder mounted and have the main weapons mounted on the arms

have decided on a design change (foreseeing issue with player/model placement) decided on a spherish body front and top will be transparent back 1/4 will be solid coloured

will add some headlights(lamps) to sides hopefully to be lit up like the other vehicle do, and maybe a rocket launching mechanism (for looks)



the weapons I'm going to try to add at the end of the arms are the floor turret guns as they have a lowered/inactive and firing animation

these changes will hopefully simplify work later, but will make the skinning tougher

wow looks great! each arm could have customizable weapons and stuff. u could have beeter ones at better lvl and even enclude something like a defence sent or shield on it. what program u useing for it?
