Going back to Star Wars, why not just let the driver sit? After all there is no vehicle i know that will allow u to stand up. For the sentinals on some part of Mechaa i dont think that would be allowed(read that somewhere in an earlier post) as they stopped allowing em's to put sentinals on vehicles cause they were thought to be over powered or something.
I believe we should go use the Star Wars model-otherwise it could be overpowered.
On The "L" Menu
Mecha Build
When you click on INFO
Level 1: Mecha is Slow Walking, Jump High, Main Weapon Available
Level 2: Mecha is Fast Walking, Jump Very High, Main Weapon & Customize Weapon Available
Level 3: Mecha is heavy so it walks-Paladin-Like Movement, Moderate Jumps, Main Weapon, Customize Weapon or Defense Sentinal are Available.
You Must Have Vehicle Stunts MAX Before Purchasing
Mecha only available to the Engineer Class and Extreme Engineer Subclass
On "L" Menu
SubGun Minigun 20 Points
SubGun Ripper 30 Points
Rocket Launcher 40 Points
Defense Sentinal 100 Points
* The SubGuns/ Sentinals are in separate catagories so when you buy one depending on the Mecha Build you could be able to purchase the other weapon/sentinal. However you must buy the minigun if you want minigun again.
Example- ^ has Mecha Build Level 3
^ Buys Rocket Launcher.
^ Changes her mind and buys Ripper
^ Changes her mind and buys Roclet Launcher
In all ^ uses 110 stat points
When you can start buying Mecha [and more information]
{Not on INFO button but on DC Wiki}
Basic Mecha summoning time 75 seconds. Max Rebuild (level 10) ???? You Must Have Loaded Engineer level 15 Before Purchasing
Super Mecha Summoning time 100 seconds. Max Rebuild (level 10) ????
You Must Have Loaded Engineer level 17 Before Purchasing
Monster Mecha Summoning time 150 seconds. Max Rebuild (level 10) ????
You Must Have Loaded Engineer level 20 Before Purchasing
SubGuns only available to the Super Mecha and the Monster Mecha.
Note:The main guns should be the ASMD shock Rifle( that weapon is from the Unreal Tournament Game) --The left-click--Moderate Fire Rate--Moderate Explosion/Splash Damage on contact
SubGuns [Customizable]
Minigun (20 Stat Points)--Ripper (30 Points)--Rocket Launcher(40 Points)
Question-will the balls of energy be a super-weak point for the Mecha?
Comment-I don't really like the idea of a transparent holder for the body.
This will allow for "small arms fire" to actually injure the Mecha as it would do if someone was in a mini turret.

Great ideas the bigger problem is the coding.
Ive learned a LOT since my last attempt at this ,and am willing to go back and create the Star Wars style walker and animate it
if someone can code it ,or will try
it may be easier to put legs on a mini turret tho
I'll do some research (Google ) and see if I can "borrow" some other mods techniques

I found a copy of the battlefront 2 AT-RT that I've gotten into MAX
I'll have to create a new skeleton and animate it
both skeleton and animating are new to me so will take a lot of work ,but I know the basics of doing both
as long as I keep animations simple ; walking (forward,backward, Sideways) it may be doable for me

A couple of idea's reading this:
1: For mechs - Looks up http://www.mechlivinglegends.net/
(Mechwarrior/BattleTech Remake) They'll have enough variations for you to use.
2: Options of user placement.
A: Immitate what the Redeemer does. (Locks the player's body and you just 'fly' around the Deemer, so why not the same idea here.)
B: Can look at the assault in space types and the 'teleport' that it does for the player.

the problem with battle armor is the alien models have an extra leg bone (horse-link)
and custom models are odd in shape
and with a Riding Mech I can just use the stock "Driving" animation
as far as coding goes I've only seen a few rather confusing (to me) tutorials around I usually Google it there is an official site with more info just don't have it bookmarked anymore

That latter one 'vaguely' talks about instead of a player it 'destroys' the player and spawns them 'as' the car. Which if this isn't too complicated, would be how "I" would consider doing the 'mech' aspect.

after some thought and the realization of my own stupidity (Copyright infringement ) I thought it better not to use this model as a major release
back on hold you go (unless I get a really good design in mind )

Copyrights are there to protect your design from others profiting off of it. If you don't get paid in any way, then I think you are safe...
I mean, look at all the other characters from Disney and TV and the such you find out there at Skin City and players who use them here:. They all came from a copyrighted something, and yet there they are....still.
I'm a great example of using the Bender skin. I think you will be ok to do this.

the issue is that the walker was taken directly from a Star Wars(Lucasarts) game therefore is property thereof
If I made it from scratch I could claim it as a tribute , but I didn't

I understand...but others port models from other games, may not be the same as the Lucas Arts empire....but it's the same thing regardless.
Port the walker, we all change our models to droids, storm troopers, or maybe ewoks... and find the Endor map and have at it.
