i still dont understand how you can not like musicals...i mean really boingo...

but like wombat said, to each their own!!!

I love musical plays...(I enjoyed every play I saw in New York) Maybe its just different with it being on TV. Not quite the same experience. I already said I felt guilty! Leave me alone already!

Ok, so on to the next. I watched Stardust this morning....it was ok. Typical guy fighting for love, coming across pirates, witches, etc. I really enjoyed Michelle Pfeiffer and Robert DeNiro, but the story didn't hold my attention. It made me think of a different version of the Princess Bride...only not quite as good.

Duking it out with "Happily N'ever After" for the worst animated feature to date... I dunno if Dreamworks just fired the writers or what it was but wow...

I've only seen one 'musical' and that was Phantom of the Opera, which I liked. Seeing and hearing something live is totally different then on a T.V., though. You can tell when someone has a natural tallent for doing certain things, as in this case, singing. The people in the one I saw were excellent. The guy playing the Phantom was ok, but the lead female role, she was outstanding.

Anyone seen Speed Racer?? I remember the toons from my childhool, and my daughter, my friend Cat and I decided to see it, and then ended up going to the theatre along with Cat's sister, nephew and niece. For those of you who have seen the toon version, it borrows from them, but adds its own.
Not as good as Iron Man, which I would give a 8.5/10, but it was still a very good movie, being perhaps a 7/10. Besides, it has a yummy Christina Ricci in it (alm ost always like her roles), and there were some very very hillarious parts.

I may see it then - being the same age as Spacey, I remember the cartoon from my childhood as well (one of my favorites - I knew all the buttons!) but I have heard nothing but horrible reviews about the movie, so I was waiting for the video. Thanks Spacey!

We just got back from see the latest episode of Indiana Jones.. As usual, it's full of laughs and pratfalls. Very enjoyable and I would give it an 8.

I heard Warner Bros forged the box office figures of the opening weekend to make it look more popular than it actually was...

Just saw the new Rambo, thought it was very well done but brutally harsh. It weighs in at 90 minutes and there is only one action scene...but it takes up about 85 minutes of the movie! So, that made it seem really short, but again, was an excellent flick.

Let me say again though, BRUTAL. The violence is probably the most extreme I've seen, made me cringe and feel really uneasy a few times. So yeah, just be prepared for that.

Also be prepared for the awesomeness of seeing an entire guard party get dropped with a compound bow. After watching this, I'll bet John Rambo could dust Chuck Norris in a heart beat.

Lastly, I also have to say, if I can move like Stallone when I'm 60+ years old, I'll be feelin pretty dang good about myself!

All in all, 7/10.

cheers.

Boingo and I saw 'Ocean's 11' over the weekend. I'm not a big fan of Pitt or Clooney, but it wasn't that bad of a movie. I like how they went through all the planing they did so that you can see how everything was executed. The movie seemed like it was pretty well done and the acting, other then Clooney, was pretty good. Sorry, but Clooney isn't a good actor to me. He does this wierd face twinge that makes me think he is trying to remember his lines or something. We have 'Ocean's 12' coming next.

Has anyone seen Indiana Jones yet?

Good or bad, I hope the franchise stops with this movie.

I saw it last night. It definitely wasn't as good as the last ones, but I was told not to expect anything. Has anyone else seen it? Did you raise an eyebrow at the 'monkey' part in the jungle? Is it me or was that overly dramatic? And I wasn't as archeological as I would have liked (I can't explain too much more without giving things away). Shia Lebouf did a good job as a motorcycle punk though. And I always enjoy the parts where Indiana is either fighting the bad guys on moving vehicles or when he's crawling through dark caves with tons of spiders and a fire-lit torch.

I just saw it last night too, the monkey part was pretty odd. What was worse was the ending. Ugh... so much for letting the series die with dignity.
