I've been on servers where you could just type a console command in order to reset your points without losing you level.

I'd like to add that feature to my server, but I can't find information on that anywhere.
Please help.

From the sounds of it, I would guess that is another mutator or RPG addon you would need.

If no one here knows what makes that possible, then you should email the admin of that server and ask him.

thanks vortex...

on one specific server, the command was "mutate resetpts" and you could use it up to 3 times per day.

I would email him, but the server and admin have closed up shop forever. I don't know his e-mail or any way of contacting him.

He went by the name "Phoenix" and ran the old Steller server.

It'd actually be a very useful, very simple thing to implement, no?

Maybe, but both Mysterial and (I believe) Druid feel that you shouldn't be able to just re-spend your points at any time you wish. You could potentially 're-stat' yourself to suit the occasion and take the idea of an RPG out of the game.

The goal is to spend your points wisely enough that you don't screw yourself into resetting. Granted new people don't always get it right the first time but theres always a level reset that can give them a new chance at it.

At any rate, I don't think you'll see an option to redistribute your points without resetting your level at DC anytime soon.

I say, you can redo any changes you've made while the Level-Up screen is still active. Or perhaps you can redo any changes made during that level? Or maybe you can revert five levels back (point-wise) once, requiring you to respend all of the points before continuing.

I rather like the second option. It's sort of like how reversing time works in Prince of Persia. You can go back eight seconds on one globe of sand, but you can't go eight seconds back *again* until eight more seconds have passed forward, essentially meaning that if at any one moment you wish to go back in time, you can only go back eight seconds, no matter how many globes of sand you have.
