After messing around with demorec and fraps I decided to try and make some movie clips of the highlights.

cool short clip! I have to ask how you recorded it and how long can you actually record video? It'd be kind of cool to make a kind of DC montage or something down the road, cool stuff though

First you can make a demo of a game, part of a game whatever. I usually stop it and start it whenever I die to keep the editing easier since the demo playback doesnt have a revers

Anyway to set up the demo you need to bind a key (or could do it from console I suppose)

M=RecordDemo
N=StopDemoRec

After youve got your demo recorded you can go to the UTCommunity thing from the main menu of the game to play them. UT also has a avi maker built in for outputing the entire demo but its very slow so I downloaded Fraps which is actually kind of a nice little program.

Anyway set up Fraps to use some key to start / stop capture then launch your demo you recorded and then use your fraps record key to get the part(s) you want.

I ended up with more than I wanted so I started up the windows movie maker that comes with windows (at least the xp pro version) and clipped off the stuff I didn't want using the split at current frame, I ended up adding some fade in / out stuff just for the heck of it too

[edit] To keep my demos shorter Ive started stoping / starting them each wave. You end up with a lot of files that way but its easier to work with. [/edit]
