April's fool Ideas.

Ok guys, here's ideas for the server on this glorious day that is coming, post your messy fantasies (UT04 GAMING Fantasies only!

Here's Mine:
Give nalis magic weapons, would be neat to see a nali with a lighting vorpal shooting from afar, or a nali dashing at you with a freezing flak.
Aaaaaaand who could forget the dear nali with a vorpal shield gun +10 or worse, with a bio gun of knockback +5?

Oh and remember, give them the positive ones, not th negative ones

maybe even 1 or 2 "rare" weird strange guns only for nalis.

People have mentioned deemer nalis before, I'm not sure if that's what Dru did last year or if it was just an idea, but it always struck my fancy. That might be quite a challenge.

What if the warlord rockets had magic qualities too?

yup it was the deemer nalis last year

it was quite crazy, even to complete the first 5 levels, but I can't wait to see what's in store for this april fools day!

I say we get nothing but trans, assault, deemer, shield. They get everything else. (oh, and our abilities are nulled.)

I had an idea that involve us trading places with the monsters. So instead of us struggling to survive wave after wave, we get wave after wave to wipe them out. When a player joins the server, instead of them spawning as their character, a bot is spawned with that character's stats. The players play as the monsters and if someone gets killed, they respawn immediately as another monster. It'd be a little much to implement, though.

I've got one: it's raining. Raining titan rocks.

I heard talk of infinite redeemers. Whether the players or nalis get them I don't know.

I think last year there were vorpal mini's too, although I didn't get one

The first thing I'd like to say is that we all understand Dru and Shan have been through it a bit recently, and we know it takes a lot of their time and effort just to keep the server running. Researching and testing these extra ideas takes more of their time and effort, which they just might not have at the moment. So, although it was great fun last year, let's not put them under extra pressure. If they have time to come up with something, fine - but this might not be the year to push it.

As a follow on to that, one of Druid's problems when putting extra features on is trying to keep it balanced. I would suggest that if Druid is going to do something special this year, he makes a statement before the day to say that all stats etc will be reset at the end of the day back to how they were at the start.

Thus he doesn't have to worry about the points implication of vorpal minis, or anything adrenaline-giving that might allow AMs to keep a globe running throughout the game. Everyone can just relax, have fun, play the game and not argue about how its better for AMs or WMs etc.

Likewise, depending on the changes, 320 might have to say no records accepted for that day.

Best to declare these things up front, so people know where they stand.

You have a point. If nothing special happens on April Fool's Day I won't complain. But its fun to discuss it anyway.

As for balance; Maybe for April Fool's, we should favor the aliens a bit instead. One day won't hurt.

Or, the RPG.ini file could be made read only for one day so that whatever you get to do it wont be permanent. Sort of an alternate reality experience that lasts only for the one day.

I missed last year unfortunately, but I won't miss this year. Hopefully we get something for the day, but if not then its fine with me. Last year the nali's had link guns, and it ran the server ragged. To much to process with all the nali links going off.
