Just watched Stay Alive.... a movie about a handful of gaming friends that get thier hands on a game that is being "tested". It's a horror flick, but yet has the one funny gamer guy that gives you a few laughs. I believe it's rated R from strong launguage, violence and some very brief nudity.
I actually rented it because my teenage daughter wanted to watch it, so I had to screen it first.... overall I'm gonna say it was a decent movie, I really thought it would be a total B, but I got a lil freaked out now and then and thought it was cool that within like the first 30 mins of the movie Unreal Tournament got some props. Not too shabby IMO.
If we were rating from 1-10...10 being totally awesome... I would give this movie a 7...maybe I'm being a lil generous, but I'm a true gamer and enjoyed watching a gaming type of movie.

I just watched Saty Alive last night i didint like it is was too scary for me. But besides all the times I was scared it was a decent movie.

I kinda doubt that we will see a 4th installment. However, given the box office receipts over Memorial Day weekend, it would not suprise me either.

In an interview, Depp said he's in for a 4th and the script is in progress, however budget concerns may knock the timeframe for a loop. But yeah, whooo knows. I doubt they'd have much trouble makin money on it...mebbe not setting records or anything but yeah, it'd take #1 for its opening weekend I'm sure.

The answer to that question (as goes for all movie studios), is an emphatic 'yes'.

Ok, so I wouldn't say they care nothing for quality, but the almighty dollar trumps everything. Here's an astonishing number to throw at you - Pirates 3 made over $400 million worldwide in just 6 days. This movie will easily top $1 billion worldwide when all is said and done.

Disney is no different than other studios who churn out (mostly) crappy sequels to cash in on a well recognized name (see Cinderella III...i didn't even know they made a part II, Tarzan II, Pocahontas II, The Lion King II, The Lion King 1 1/2, The Little Mermaid II, Lady and the Tramp II, The Hunchback of Notre Dame II, The Fox and the Hound II....and there are more....most of these sequels were made in the last few years).

The fact is that Hollywood has been making a LOT of bad movies in the last 15 years or so. More so than ever before. Money rules all. They made a sequel to Hostel, for crying out loud. That was perhaps one of the worst movies ever made. I have seen literally about 4 movies at the theater in the last 7 or 8 years. I refuse to pay 9 bucks or more to see a poorly written, poorly acted, poorly directed, poorly edited pile of garbage. At least if I accidentally rent a stinker, it only cost less than half of that.

<claps emfatically> Well said electrician! I can't agree with you more on the quality over these past years. I mean, in our HS days my wife and I were movie hounds (I worked a video store(yeh, video as in vhs and BETA!) and you could get your hands on some very funny B and C films, but these didn't even hit the big screen. Mostly they may have hit indi festivles or collage campus', and then tape to try to scrape a few bucks (ie. See Raw Head Rex or Pumpkinhead,,, etc...) But now it seems anyone with a video camera and some cash can get a film on the silver screen.

yeah gotta agree with you there..i just think that many writer are out of ideas and thus are doing sequels and/or remakes of old movies...

but yeah ...btw wats up with the price of movies anyways? ($9 US?! wow)...and movie food....hmph...ripp offs.. there is of courses renting the movies for half the price watch movies in the comfort of your own home for and then theres for free...(yes i do infact ref to piracy) ..

which now is so easy ..you dont..even have to download movies or TV shows..you can watch them streamed off of sites at no cost..i mean i dont support piracy but im not against it rlly .....actually ive got no real opinion on it ..
but honestly 400 million in 6 days...i somehow dont think it affects them if they dont get few dollars..hasnt affected the industry now...nor a few yrs ago...so yeah...

....wait....howd in the world i get to piracy?!?!....WAT?!....o.0.......hmmmmmmmmm..... im....gonna go watch some TV on the computer now for free.....so yeah...

Movie Theaters are very pig rip offs 2 tickets and popcorn and a drink cost about 25$. I dont do stream videos of the web and watch, for me it is wait till the movie comes out to rent, rent it burn it then return it for like 4-5$.

The movie theater where I go to give refills on large stuff (common tricks but oh so good). So if you buy a large popcorn in a bag that is featuring Shrek 3 then you eat all of it then next time you return if they are using the same bag just ask for a free refill. I also like to pay for one movie but stay at the movie theater for the whole day watching differnet movies that i didnt pay for.

You know it's becoming bad when going to see Spiderman 3 the cost was $8.50 but the popcorn cost more at $9.50.... 7.25 for a small eesh. Anyway though, I'm looking forward to a movie called Across the Universe. It's a musical told through Beatles music... the trailer looks very odd, but could be something great.

The cost of movies these days is re-freaking-diculous. Cham and I enjoy the drive in. Double feature for both of us is about $12 and we either stop at the grocery store on the way for goodies or raid the kitchen. Its fun! We're holding out for the Simpsons movie in July. Did everyone know they're finally coming out with a Rush Hour 3? August, I think.

Tickets pay for operating expenses at theaters, concessions are profit. I saw Pan's Labrynth again last week, what a great DARK movie.

where the main character sees 2 minutes into the future....thriller mostly

i think it was rather well done ...good movie not...fantastic but very good in my opinion...staring Nick Cage as a magician/main character but yeah good stuff. ..
