I like mountain biking and road biking, but not sure if everyone consideres those to be sports even though there are many competitions for both.

Nice Video Cham, thanks for sharing. I particularly enjoyed the music set to it.
Yes, Mountain biking and road biking is definatly a sport. You have to be in excellent physical shape to be able to ride hard and fast for an extended period, expecially over gravel or a no paved surface.

I live in the bay in Cali where it is congested w/bikers. Its amazing to see so many elderly people in peak physical condition from excercising and biking for years. Its inspiring.

Here is another one I found. This video was on my road bike about, ohhhh, I would say about a year ago or so. This one was when I did a climb up to the top of Mt. Hamilton. For thos of you that live in the SF Bay Area, you may know this place. It is just East of San Jose and there is an observatory up on top (Lik Observatory, I believe is what it is called). Again, the video was compressed, so the quality is down. I also forgot to name off the species of plants as I was climbing. I was going to name off the different oaks, manzanita, etc. as I was going up. Oh well. This is a really fun road to ride on, though. Especially when you are coming down. Just 19-20 straight miles of downhill!! This video was supposed to be part 1 of 2. This first one was the climb and part 2 was coming down. Part 2 is really long, though and the file is pretty big. I need to see how I can make the file smaller.

Do you classify fishing as a sport?

I spent last weekend stuck on an oil rig out in the Gulf of Mexico 100 miles south-south east of Galveston, Texas, USA.

It was a four day trip and my part of the job only took a few hours so it was on to fishing. We were in an area the oil jockeys call High Island which basically is an underwater salt dome that is about 40 miles or so across and rises up from the deeper parts of the Gulf to a depth of about one hundred and fourty feet. So this is shallow deep water fishing.

We caught (largest to smallest) four Amberjack ranging from 35 to 75 pounds, one Ling 4 ft, 3 and a half inches (looks like a cross between a shark and a freshwater catfish with no whiskers) that was 55 pounds -- , and a whole host of blue hard tale (a really good looking fish), strawberry grouper, red snapper and vermillion snapper not to mention the wads of "trash fish" that are good for cut bait. Oh and we landed a five foot black tip shark too. It was totally awesome.

On a side note, I saw for the first time a huge ball of bait fish being really worked over by two blue marlin that came out of the water many times chasing the bait fish. And dolphins out the wazoo.

The water was georgous, crystal clear blue on blue and we could see parts of the platform 60 feet down in the water on sunny days.

It isn't always like this with my job, but times like these make up for the miserable conditions and gives me something to hope for.

Well speaking more currently, rather than the glory days of high school *cough*Mystic*cough*... swimming ,NASCAR, weight lifting for me.

And it's not just NASCAR, it's anything racing. Bikes, trucks, cars, etc. Doesn't matter as long as it's fast and loud

but... to refer back to high school days..
Football, wrestling and weight lifting were my main interests...

I got my trophies as well

Here is part 2 of my ride. This is coming down Mt. Hamilton. I took a lot out of the video to make the file smaller. It was originally about 140megs.
