Tons of pets running around, pings good, FPS good. Dunno the root cause but I think it is medic abilities as well.

Actually, when the ping and FPS are good that is an indicator that its the client speed that is choking. Press F6 and check the Incoming data. I bet its pegging at the maximum the server allows and its still not enough to receive all the info that is flying around.

Medics can help out in two ways.
1) Don't use the Flak or Link gun as a medic gun, the Minigun seems to work very well to heal people quickly and its hitscan so no extra projectile tracking needed.
2) summon the more powerful pets and keep it to 1 or 2 at most, not 5 or 6 or whatever is the max.

Yeah, I think since there are several infinites with the trigger always down, that's definately part of it.

I'm thinking this is probably what the problem has been whenever we play primeval. Tracking 30 titans and 60 titan rocks probably exceeds the 10k bandwidth limit.

Please let me know if this is happening outside of vehicle invasion.

This has definitely been happening outside of vinv, although mostly on later waves while the server is full.

This may be a larger problem than the pets. The problem really is that more players are surviving longer due to overall higher levels and medics keeping them afloat.

We may be working on a solution. In the meantime, please keep the information coming in.

The fundamental problem is this: The first word we learn as children is NO. From that point forward society teaches women that saying no isn't polite, and society teaches men to respect those who wont take no for an answer.

Depends on map at least for me. We were playing Metalurgy and it was lagging badly for all 14 or so waves we played, an admin forced a switch to Cola Wars and for me at least the lag was manageable. Individual maps seem to be worse than others with 20 people. Family Room can be laggy if you have 10 people, let alone 20.

Please don't hurt my medic. True he's starting to get teeth, but I'm not ready to wean him yet and he still need protecting

Kit, you may be on to something there. Maybe a five life limit per game. Once your lives are up you just don't spawn again or you have to skip a wave before spawing again.

You mean I really am important? How I feel when I'm drunk is correct?

In regards to the comment that some maps are worse than others,
consider the way the map is laid out. In some maps, like every sHoK map for example, there are virtually no walls that divide the map into rooms. When you have a bunch of pawns in a single room environment the server has to keep sending information about all of those pawns to all of the clients connected. If you are playing a map with many separated rooms, then the server only needs to send you info about the pawns in the room that you can see. The rest dont concern you until you walk into another room.

I don't totally understand how the game code knows what to send to who all the time, but thats how it was explained to me once and it makes alot of sense. Plus I can confirm that the super room maps are indeed harder on the servers CPU usage.

They require more server cpu to make those decisions, but that should not reflect in their bandwidth.

To some extent, you shouldn't vote for a 1 on 1 map if there's 20 players on. This will almost certainly create lag for everyone...
