A comment was made on the server the other night "this is going to get pretty boring after i have everything (all skills, etc..), i guess I'll start over again." This was made by a low level optimist, but it made me think. What more is there after you do "get" everything? (though i dispair that I'll ever even get loaded 2!! )
Perhapse, at such a high level, a player could mold their char. into an elite pc.
Lets say, for example, I could start earning points to make my character into a medic. A medic could buy higher % chances to get healing weapons, or maybe lucky weapons that produce only health and armor? Perhaps special artifacts could come into play, which only that type of char. could use, similar to a magic maker but it would spawn health kegs or mega shield? A skill to buy might be "zone of health", similar to regen but other players in a certian area or zone around the medic would begin to regen, and when they leave the zone the regen stops.
There could be other pc types of coarse, some could include warrior, supplier, sniper (this one has quite evil possibilities ), leech (a rat like little fellow who steals your stuff maybe, but leaves other bonus' behide for you), etc... This may even produce a more "team" like effort for such large games as 2003 maps with 32 waves and the like.
Better minds then mine would have to figure out the actual characters, and how to implement new bonus', skills, and such, never mind how to make it all work in game.
T'was just a rambling thought that ended up on screen, but what do you think? Is it possable, and would it be worth it to you high level players that have it all and need something new to strive for?

well after you have bought it all, you could try .. oh i dont know.. staying alive.

with so many stat caps in place, the game will get ridiculously hard when you get to level 100 or so on the DC server.

If I remember right from my short visits, the monster adjust is .25 and the points per level is about 7 right?... well at level 100 the monsters start to have more damage bonus AND more damage reduction than you do even on wave 1.

(this is of course assuming that at this level you are the lowest level player alive, after all, if a level 20 guy is still alive the monsters are adjusted for him)

but yes, once the endless dying from the monsters being more powered up than you are wears off its newness, yes you might want to reset

These things are true.

I've been concocting another idea that is like loaded weapons except for artifacts.

The thing about loaded weapons is it's like being a weapons master once it's maxxed out. You have all the goods and you can do whatever with them...

I've been thinking about making a loaded artifacts that makes you more like an enchanter along a different skill chain than Loaded Weapons.

Probably a prereq of Adrenal Drip 2 and a new skill that's like Vamp except for adrenaline. once you have those sklls you could buy the loaded artifacts that starts you with a bunch of artifacts, including some that aren't available for pickup.

My toughts on those artifacts are an unbreakabke weapon maker that uses more adrenaline, an artifact that drains your adr like tripple damage, but temproarially doubles the plus of your current magic weapon. An artifact that makes your gun a healing gun while your adr holds out, and maybe some new adrenaline combos that are only available to people with this enchanter skill.

Also, you couldn't have vamp and the adr vamp, and you couldn't have loaded weapons and this "enchanter" skill at the same time.

Lastly, I'd like to thow a cloak on all the enchanters, but I dont have any idea how to do that

Heya Em, trust me though, you'll be fighting hard at level 100 to stay alive. The challenge at our level becomes survival. The additional skills just keep us alive

I agree with all of these ideas above!!!
And, Dru, with some of that stuff implemented that you are thinking about, an individual player could lable themselves as certain classes of pc's and hand out weps, or use some of those unique arty's (ie the healing weapon maker thing) to benifit fellow players, etc....
And again, i'm not the best player in the world, nor the fastest to gain xp, so i can only hope to attain such a level as to start feeling like i need to fight for something more. (p.s. I already have that survival thing down pat, esp. on level 12, i always die on that one...hmmm )

I think some type of adrenaline ammo refill combo would be great, and maybe some type of skill to increase your accuracy. I dont know what is within the realm of your mighty programmer abilities, just some ideas to chew on.

good, bad, I'm the guy with the gun.

I honestly don't see how that's possible. The people in the hundreds (aka people twice my level or more) should have it the easiest of all. At my level survival is a bit of a struggle, bot not really. They are the people who have twice as many stat points put in to various abilities and stats than me. We all fight the same monsters. And once it gets to 10k xp per level, when you reach level 66, it doesn't take any more xp to go up a level than to last. Always 10k after that. You can't tell me it gets harder? The more levels you go up, the most your stats/abilities go up, the faster the kills.

Sure the monsters level scale SOMEwhat accordingly, as to who is still alive, but no matter how you look at it, the 100's will almost always have monsters at lower level than them, and the low levels will almost always have monsters at a higher level than them.

Isn't that somewhat skewed? 100's have just gotten soft.

We'll see when you hit 100 and you're the only surviving player...

As vor says, the monsters scale with the level, however, the players are capped on damage reduction/bonus, so you cant keep up with the monsters. The best you can do is buy other skills to supliment you

I love the idea of new character classes. Hmmm a warrior taco... the possibilities frighten and astound me. Maybe more improved ammo and damage bonuses, increased speed and rate of fire. Or even better a chance of critical hit.

Yes I like the new ideas. I know there is a way to apply the cloak idea you had to players, but restricting it to players who have a certain skill is the tough part. (Think of the santa hats mutator)

Arrrgh, but the low levels have to fight against the same monsters that are "keeping up" with the 100's. And those same monsters are easier to beat for the 100's as long as there's someone still alive that's a lower level than them (which is quite often, especially in the case of me, expert survivalist.)

the only reason the low levels can keep up at all is because monsters are dynamically adjust to fit the level of the lowest LIVING player. So once the low levelers start dying off it gets noticeably harder mid-wave. And you have discovered the trick to it. Once you get really high the smart move is to play secret service agent and protect those tender lower level players from harm. Also ensuring you stand a chance.
