I sometimes have a hard time spelling. I just discovered this for those who have Firefox browser.

1. Go to http://spellbound.sourceforge.net/install and select your browser version.
2. Go to dictionaries.mozdev.org/installation.html and select the language for your dictionary.

Close browser for changes to take effect.

If these don't seem to be installing then check the top of your browser to see if the pages are being blocked. If they are then click the edit button and "allow" the site to install.

Now when you're typing something into a form (this new topic form in my case at the moment) all you have to do is select the text, right click, then pick check spelling and it will do the rest.

Google Toolbar provides a spell check facility.

I never spell a word wrong though. If I think it is rong, I just throw it into the google bar on FF and see if I have it right or not.

I'm afraid many people don't realize the can't spell, therefore many typos get through. In order to use any of the processes you guys described you'd have to know that it may not be spelled right.

On the one I described you can select the whole paragraph and see all your typos. If you guys can point out something that can do what I just described or somethin that checks grammer too without all the installations then let me know.

BTW, when I click the Spell Check button to launch demo at spellingcow.com all I get is a blank pop-up, not too encouraging.

I used to have a thesaurus application that would go in the corner of your screen and give you alternate words, can't find the link now though
