Ok! I believe most of you know I got tickets to Green Day back in May. Well, last night was the concert! Here's my review:
Jimmy Eat World was the starting band and they weren't too bad. I've never paid any attention to them and I enjoyed the songs they were playing. They played for about 45 minutes. While the crew was setting up for Green Day, I just sat there people watching. There was a screen where people could text message what they want and it would show up. Hobo sent our names up there and they appeared!
Finally, Green Day came out, everyone shot out of their seats yelling and clapping. I think I was actually jumping up and down. They started out by playing the first three songs of American Idiot. "Holiday" was played third. It's my favorite song and I sang to my little heart's content. Tre Cool (the drummer) sang his hiddren track at the end of Dookie. Billie Joe (the main guy) sounds like a cartoon character, at least he did last night. He didn't sound like that on TV. They were so charismatic, running and jumping around on stage. At one point they were going to make a new band with people from the audience. The girl who got up to play Billie Joe's guitar got to keep it. Lucky devil....
During the whole thing, they had a bunch of lights and a few explosions. Fire was shot straight up and the end of a few songs. I felt the heat from those suckers. Closer to the end, they played a rendition of "Shout!" "We Are the Champions" and "Stand By Me." They also did "Wake Me Up When September Ends" while everyone got their cell phones out. That was awesome seeing all these blue lights floating around the venue. The very last song they did was "Time of Your Life." Great song to end on.
I had no hearing and my voice is still scratchy. I got a cheapy $5 bracelet. They put on a fun concert, as a warning, Billie Joe got slightly vulgar at some points, but for Boingo's Star Rating: I give it an 8 out of 10.
Stay tuned for Boingo's Depeche Mode Concert Review coming up on November 12th!

I give it a 7.5! you misspelled "at". SUCH A SIMPLE WORD AND YOU MESSED IT UP COMPLETELY!!!!!!!!
"Fire was shot straight up and the end of a few songs. "
She meant fire was shot straight up AT the end of a few songs. I will admit, it was freakin' awesome, I couldn't hear this morning when I woke up..my ears were stilling ringing! It was pretty spiffin!

The fundamental problem is this: The first word we learn as children is NO. From that point forward society teaches women that saying no isn't polite, and society teaches men to respect those who wont take no for an answer.

I got front rom also, right at the railing at the front. Warning to whomever may get to do the same sometime, watch your ribs on the bars lol. There was some crappy little punk wanna be band from toronto thats touring with papa and some band from tennesse a local group played in replace of the band that decided not to show grr. Concert was a riot I couldnt hear a thing for 2 days basically it was so loud. Oh and best part was I almost had to take a chic on cause she would leave chach alone lol. Oh and I got to grab on to the leads leg and he held my hand omg he was smokin...but not as much as u chach anyways hehe i could trail off forever im done now

That is one thing that would bother me is being shoved around a lot. That would get on my nerves after a while. I would't have to worry about some girl not leaving me alone, though.

Depeche Mode is a freaking AWESOME 80's band!! They've been around forever. You should check them out! Run to your local library and check out a CD! I recommend Violator. I've only been to one of their concerts (Exciter in '01) and the light show they had going on behind them was so cool. We sang Happy Birthday to Martin Gore. Dave Gahan is amazing to watch.

I stayed out of the mosh pit. Actually, from what it looked like the guards were keeping the mosh pits from going on too long. I was in one when I saw Muse (Oct '03) and when the first body surfer landed on my head, I was out of there. I don't want people landing on my head and I don't want people touching me. I need my room to dance around like a fool. Good for you for being brave, though.

You won't be disappointed, I promise!
