Heya kids, I've been thinking of tweaking the way the anti camper works to work similarly for monsters.
Here's the premise...
If a monster hasn't been within visible range of a live player in say 30 seconds, the game respawns the monster at a random navigation point near a live player.
Thoughts?

The fundamental problem is this: The first word we learn as children is NO. From that point forward society teaches women that saying no isn't polite, and society teaches men to respect those who wont take no for an answer.

Great point continuum! This will definately breathe new life into Onslaught/Vehicle Invasion. It will also make the big maps that we no longer play much more playable(read Lily Liver/Lava Giant)

I can only hope. I attached two different non onslaught versions in the maps forum, hopefully Shan will give 'em the nod.

It would also sort out maps like UCMP-Bloodrun, where the monsters get stuck.
Great idea.

Excellllent! (rubs hands together). Great idea Dru, I've always loved the bigger maps, but it is hard to play them when you can't find that last @#%$^ bug.

I hope this includes pets that get lost too (mostly warlords that fly too high)

You mean I really am important? How I feel when I'm drunk is correct?

Nay, not for pets. Pets will be fixed in other ways in the future.

We can only hope for the demise of said pets in the existence they are known as today. For once, perhaps, the map will be somewhat less troubled with infiltrated monsters' minds.

How about a change such that if a pet gets more than a certain distance away from its owner, it teleports back to the owner?
This would get them out of stuck places, and keep them next to the people that wanted them in the first place.
Would this make pets more useful? Or might perhaps we end up with less pets then?

Umm....
This sounds quewl, but I may have to start playing with a heart monitor. It should help with big maps by speeding them up. I like ONS maps such as RedPlanet, but not the wait when huntin scwewy wabbits. So I don't vote for them.
Sounds like a good idea.
