Gulf Coast Disaster

I would like to extend my best wishes to the 1,000,000 plus people who were just made homeless by the worst natural disaster in American history.

Hear, Hear! My brother in law works for Ace as a driver and he and a bunch of others volanteered to drive trucks from here (upstate ny) down to them, picking up generators, blankets, food, water, ice, etc.. along the way and stay down there for a while to distribute to the worst hit areas.

Yes, I hope everyone is doing well down there. Not too happy about seeng the people that are looting and firing at law enforcement and the national guard who are trying to help them.

My heart and prayers goes out to DC players who have friends and family in New Orleans and sounding area. I hope these people are safe and have food and shelter.

Help has been slow and hopefully it will improve over the next few days for all the people who are now hungry, tired and homeless. Many people are opening their hearts and homes I think these people are saints.

I feel helpless the only thing I can do is make a donation to the Red Cross.

Its a sad feeling to see what everyone in those areas has had to endure, but they are in our thoughts and prayers... the company I work for is helping to raise money tomorrow for the relief so I hope to be able to help out as much as I can

I am leaving noonish friday sept 05 for there, I will be stationed in Baton Rouge with church of scientology.
We hope to have over 800 volenteers there by sunday.

Be careful friend aqua. I applaude everyone who can help in any small way, but for those who will be there in the flesh I wish you good health. Not only from looters and the like, but sickness from raw sewage and such and the inevitable mental distress they feel from the overwhelming emotions they must go through dealing with all of the destruction of property and lives down there. My thoughts are with you as well as with the survivors.

Here is a blog that tells it from the inside - a support team that works for an ISP located downtown in one of the high-rise buildings. They are riding it out but it isn't pretty. WARNING: not kid/family firendly (especially the comments by visitors - which is just safer to skip anyway).
