In an attempt to spread the artifacts around more, there is now a 3 artifact limit. If you try to pick up more than 3 total artifacts, the additional ones will either not pick up or be consumed.

Is there an artifact limit in the sense that theres say only 10 weapon makers available per game and if you have 5 of 'em theres only 5 more available out there for people to get? Or doesn't it work that way?

I think this is a great setting. I know I have picked up a bunch of arty's before. The problem is, i don't even notice when i have them most of the time, I'm too busy fraggin' Once i notice i have some, i usually toss them to others, or over a bank and let someone else earn them from their own kills.

That would explain why I couldn't find the MWM I picked up the other day... Anyway, I think it's a good idea. I just have to keep in mind that I can only hold 3. Good call Dru.

One more thing:

Llachior, you got that screenshot from the bottom of a nuke I take it. I remember taking a screenshot like that. I can't remember if it was my nuke though....

Is that:
3 total per game to use?
3 per wave?
3 being held at any one time?

Also, I thought if you already had a charm in possesion then you couldn't pick up another of the same type until you used the first.

Obvious note: Those with loaded artifacts are carrying more than this number with the game spawns them, and that's ok. They'll have a hard time picking up something they throw though.

i like this idea too, it allows for more artifacts to go around. i usually toss the ones i know i won't use. thank you fodderfigure for the hot keys thingy to make it so much easier ^__^

i like to keep a lightning bolt on hand, those can be usely for not only clearing away bug swarms, but hurting other swarms of enemies like the skaarj, and making some nice experience with each shock that makes contact. i almost never use electromagnet, invincibility orb, or boots of flight, so out they go!

Any thoughts on maybe the elimination of the transporter, flying boots, and maybe even the electromagnet (i know you made that one dru :/ ). Does anyone even use those? Everytime I get them I usually toss 'em so they don't take up the spot of a useful artifact.

i would keep them. except for the transporter.

when my translocator is damaged, i need some way of getting to it to retreive it.

Boots of flight are most useful on 'cliff' maps where if you fall off you die. If you're quick about it, you can use the boots and fly back to the map. Unless you've got speed switch, I usually find it's too late to try and translocate.
