Runes

Is there a list somewhere of which runes do what that I'm missing? Some are pretty self explanatory (like triple damage) but some, like lightning rod, I have no idea about.

lightning rod produces reletively weak lightning gun like attacks radiating from your person to strike close enimies (works really well on that pack of pupea attacking you, or the stupid razorfly or mantaray thing)

Magic Maker makes the weapon in your hand into a magic weapon (even if it already is, so be careful, you won't always upgrade! (ie. flak +3 may turn into a flak +1) But it will always make a positive weapon, and will get rid of a cursed weapon (slowfoot, draining, "-", misfortune, etc..)

triple damage, as you said self explanitory.

Magnet, lets you walk on walls and celings.

teleporter, teleports you to a random area on the map.

Enhanced summoning charm, lets you summon pets to fight for you. the amount of adren. you use determines which monster you summon. (if you use 100 you get a warlord, 75 and you get something else, etc.. not sure of the adren prices)

boots of flight, lets you fly.

globe of invulnarability, self explanitory.

The enhanced summoning charm always uses 100 adrenaline and always gives you a warlord. Did Dru adjust the magic weapon maker? It used to just give you a random magic type and modifier. Many a time I've used the magic weapon maker on a +1 Flak and gotten a -2 Draining.

with my personal exp. I've never gotten any negitive weps if I used a mwm. (I have gotten the same wep, or a +2 turned into a +1 or with just a magic property (sturdy, etc..) but never a neg or cursed one.

shockingly enough i got a misfotrune weapon with a magic weapon maker. it could've been a bug or something. hasn't happened in a few months.

just to let u know, the globe of invulnerability uses your adren insanely fast, so, imo, it's wise to only use it as a last effort escape

I may be wrong, but I think the magic weapon maker works by generating a random bonus. I think it tries a number of times (50?) to get a +ve one, stopping as soon as it does. However, if you get to the re-try limit, you are stuck with whatever it generated last. Otherwise, it could go on forever.

I'm sure someone else must be able to clarify that in more detail. (Someone who knows what they are talking about!!)

Szlat is correct. It is *possible* to get a negative or cursed weapon with the MWM, just very unlikely. So Cpl, if you've had it happen a number of times, you're just really unlucky.
