Diablo 3 and video cards

Alright gang first of all BOO!!! I'm still alive and kicking with a son as yall know. He's now 1yr and 5 months and starting to talk. (Sorry for the rambling)(Smacks self) Sorry Back on track. So my wife wants to play diablo 3 on her computer which has a AMD Athlon(TM) 64x2 Dual Processor. It's a desktop and an HP. What can you suggest that would fit an old HP Pavilion that is either the same as or better than an ATI Radeon x1950 Pro or a Nvidia GeForce7800 GT? I'd appreciate the help and would like to say I'm sorry I disappeared and I miss yall. Maybe we'll see you in Diablo 3 if we ever get it workin.

As to later PCI cards that will fit, you should be able to go up one generation without trouble, i.e. nvidia 8000 series, and perhaps two generations. Best thing to do is query your board series to see what you can do. With your board, you will not be able to take advantage of the PCI-E cards. Most of the PCI cards I saw run less than $50.00 brand new on e-bay.

I, on the other hand, am stuck in AGP land...and the only cards worth a darn are used items of known good makers. All the "new" ones are no name, direct from China (or worse) that usually dont work when you get them.

ONe of these days, I will build a new rig (after I build one for the wife of course), but it wont be this year....unless our ship comes in. (dont know where in the appt we are going to fit a ship...but we will make it work)

Flak, are you sure that you are looking in the right places?
