lost xp

was playing today at about 235 eastern had about 500xp, died and when I returned I had nothing for xp. perhaps this has been posted so just an fyi.

Whenyou say 'died' do you mean your client UT2004 crashed, and you had to restart UT2004?
If so, this is unfortunately a known bug - especially for Engineers, Medics and the General class, but also anyone else who might have summoned a pet.
Usually the server remembers the xp and adds it, but not always.

nothing like a crash or unresponsive.
Just normal play, normal death, waited for next level to start
and the xp was gone.
I look at my xp often and this was different,
I don't recall losing xp under these circumstances so i thought it was odd.

Crash, rejoin etc would not suprise me with lost xp.

The server saves xp away every so often - I think every 20 mins. Occassionally - perhaps up to 5 times a day - the server crashes. At this point, any xp earnt since the last save goes.
Did the server go to the map voted for, or did it select a new map all by itself?

Actually some fall off maps have this effect on people. For example on roma moon station, if you were to fall off then you would lose all your xp. Its a map bug, not a server or client side bug. Unfortunately all you can do is be more careful next time. It happens on very few other maps, but mainly if it is an instant death, it could happen to you.
