Two, it shouldn't be too difficult to screen it based upon the two pawns' teams.

To point 1... Why waste the time on it when there's so many other cool things to do.

to point 2... Quite simply, I don't know how. I would think a visible object would be visible to both teams.

The fundamental problem is this: The first word we learn as children is NO. From that point forward society teaches women that saying no isn't polite, and society teaches men to respect those who wont take no for an answer.

1. Well, I've suggested a few other things .
2. Yeah... I didn't think about that part...

I hadn't thought of team games using it so thats a good point there.

When I get around to finishing it I'll just make a artifact that makes it that way if your in a team game you have the option of making the regular one.

Hmm, but also, in games where you are facing normal characters, and even moreso human players, there is a much smaller chance that you can flee for safety, and so it wouldn't be as crucial to know where a medic was. You could have it not appear if it wasn't a fully-cooperative gametype, but it would make it easier just to make an option.

I never thought of it being used in another game or is there team invasion? Never looked into it but it never crossed my mind other than FHI.

I just had an idea though and one that might be even simpler to code, why not have the names highlighted when you bring up F1? That way there's no yelling or typing where's a medic? Just an idea though and one that might be able to be easily coded so that you can either switch it on or off. Another thing, I'm no coder, but you might be able to hook it to team games so that only one side can see who the medic is...just a thought.

Not wishing to be negative, but a question occurs to me. Should all players have the right to know who is a medic and who isn't?

Take for instance the person that is primarily interested in being a monster master. He will purchase Loaded Healing so he can heal himself, but not bother with Experienced Healing putting his points instead into monster skills. At the end of each wave, he may want to race around the map picking up armour, ammo and adrenaline. However, if he has a big Medic sign above his head, or be highlighted on a radar, then people will get in front of him demanding to be healed. Is that fair?
And is it really necessary? It doesn't take long to find out who the medics are on a map. And medics can set up a keybind to say "healing at...."

So, if we are going ahead with the halo or the radar, I think it ought to be a low-cost ability that medics actually buy to advertise themselves. So medics have to opt in rather than it being forced upon them.

.. as an alternative, tie it to the Experienced Healing skill.
Either the crosses could show up when they buy it, or buy a certain level of it.

The benefit here being not even a single point need be spent on this. I can imagine there might be a few players out there who would rather use that point or points elsewhere instead of purchasing a 'HUD upgrade' skill.

Well, if they only use it to heal themselves, that would be quite selfish of them, and frowned upon in Invasion communities .

This points again to the usage of the "sign/signal" on the healing weapons themselves rather than on the individual player

Yeah right now I'm thinking I'll make an ability that gives you an artifact that will create the gun with the crosses on it. The gun will have the same functionality of the medic inf 6, maybe cost a couple extra adren to make or something like that not sure at this point. Since it is seperate from the other skill / artifact you will be able to make either one once you have the skill so if you end up in a teamgame you can go back to the one without the crosses on it..

Basically you purchase the skill then choose what version of medic weapon you want to make.

As for usefullness, its hard to know what the new guy chose as a class, and alot of regulars have a character of each class so it can take a bit of time to tell if their a medic or if their holding a piercing weapon untill they actually start to heal.

Healing weapons should be purple so they can't be confused with anything else. Wait, is Vorpal purple?

However, that thread was simply addressing the problem, and had no ideas to fix it.

I thought the initial suggestion was for medic weapons to have a distinctive colour so they could be easily identified?
