How about removing the weapon identification, so people do not know what type of weapon they have?
The shader will give them a clue. However, it will not tell them what the + is. And some types of weapons have the same shader e.g. Penetrating and Piercing.
Could even remove the shaders....?

How about a mod that at the end of wave 16 just when everyone thinks they have won, randomly says "April fool" and starts wave 16 again?

How about a new type of queen. The spawned pupae after a set period of time, or a kill, turn into skaarj. Again after a set period of time or a kill, the skaarj turn into titans.

To stop anti-social behaviour, we could add a mod that hits the person firing with half the friendly fire damage they do.

If you are really stuck for something for April 1st, there is always the MultiPower Weapons mod

Give all the monsters ghost level 3 and/or ultima.

Have some extra artifacts that can be spawned that look like normal health/shield/adrenaline pickups but explode.

Increase the chance of getting cursed weapons. Or set the chance of getting a magical weapon to 0.05.

Limit the weapons to one type of weapon for the map, randomly chosen. e.g. all rocket launchers or all shocks.

Set the monsters level % of lowest player level to be 2.0 instead of 0.25, up the skill to inhuman and set the weapons to be significantly more powerful. Perhaps give medics medic infinite redeemers, give LWs permanent double damage and set adrenal drip to 10/second.

Create a redeemer warlord to go with the redeemer Nali
