When this thread was originally started, this post only contained a few words. I (BotFodder) have since edited it to include all of the words that I, as thread starter, have decided should be part of the DC lexicon. Attributions are included in cases where the originator of the term is clear. If there is no attribution, the term is either one I came up with, or it is a term already in widespread use on the server (or I missed putting in the proper attribution during the composition of the post - sorry ops.

affro - (FodderFigure) Any time a player comes on after the leader, and then surpasses the leader in a single wave, finishing that wave 100 points up from the leader. See "fro".

astoneded - (Grizzled_Imposter) The feeling that results from being killed by a rock (stealth or otherwise) that you were unaware of.

backshielder - Refers to a particular breed of Nali.

bangstick - Any vorpal weapon, save maybe the avril. Not to be confused with "boomstick".

blade - also blading, bladed. Any time a player uses a shield gun to kill a monster another player has been pounding on with another weapon for a significant period of time (or the act of doing so on a regular basis). "That guy just bladed the titan I was trying to kill!"

blockhead - (TheElectrician) A player who steps in front of another's deemer.

boomstick - Any penetrating shock, which usually only good for sending out multiple shock balls and comboing them, giving anyone with subwoofers a treat, and anyone with their headphones up too loud temporary deafness. Not to be confused with "bangstick".

bored to death - (320) If a player is the last one alive during a wave and is forced to constantly run away from the monsters, who eventually start to die off due to timing out.

bouncer - (Grizzled_Imposter) A player making good use of a Knockback weapon.

cap - As in "cap it off" or "put a cap on it". Any time an AM maxes and uses the +1 Modifier on a weapon.

clone - Tossing a weapon and running back over the spawn point for the weapon in order to make copies for other players.

deemeralized - (TheElectrician) 1. The feeling you get when someone else's deemer takes out a large group of monsters a split second before yours.

deemeralized - 2. The feeling you get when you've been deemerdered.

deemercide - Killing oneself with a deemer.

deemerder - Killing someone else with a deemer. Kill 5 or more, and you are a "mass deemerderer."

dodgicide - 1. Dodging into the path of a rock that would have otherwise missed you.

dodgicide - 2. Dying because you failed to stop dodging when facing a Warlord.

fixture - (Grizzled_Imposter) Any player who seems to be on constantly, possibly due to access at work or unemployment.

fro - When someone starts the wave in the lead, but then by the end of the wave is 100 points down from the leader, they have been "froed".

gas n go - (Grizzled_Imposter) A medic establishes a "gas n go" when they choose a set place in the map to loiter around, where players can go and be mostly assured of being healed.

group hug - When many players crowd around a medic with a medic weapon that does splash damage so everyone gets healed.

instasquish - What a Titan does when he steps on a player. IE, "I was instasquished."

iPoints - ("eye points") The theoretical points you would have scored, had there been anything anywhere near the impact zone of your super weapon.

lawn mower (rockgoddess/SubieDude) An Infinite Minigun (usually +4).

medicize -("mede-size") Using a Medic Weapon Maker on a weapon. "Bot, you want a flak 5?" "No, I'm just going to medicize one."

meteor shower - Being the target of a large number of rocks all at once.

Mule - Or Pack Mule, any player that holds on to certain weapons only for the purposes of giving them out. Usually applied to a Medic, who would almost never use one of their pack weapons (as they would usually stick to their medic weapon). Can be used to identify a Adrenaline Master who has Denial 3. Also, any player who manages to get maxed Damage weapons for their shock up to their flak (or more).

nade ja vu - The realization that the Nali you're about to kill has stuck you with a grenade, and when you kill him, you'll probably die, too.

pidle - ("pie-dle") going idle to pee.

pinata - (BigDaddy) ("pinyata") When an AM player dies and spews all of their artifacts.

pop - Euphemism for "vorpal".

pop gun - (Grizzled_Imposter) Euphemism for "bangstick" or "precious".

portacide - Dying due to being too close to an exit of a portal. Use of the term requires that you are aware on some level that the exit is there.

portakill - Killing a player by going through a portal.

precious - Refers to a vorpal weapon (usually a shock), usually with a higher plus value.

rocked out - (320) When a player is scoring well but dies to a Titan's rock.

rock wreck - (Moof) The result of rounding a corner or passing through a doorway and finding that a Titan rock had the right-of-way.

saw the show - also revued. Died to a group of Queens.

shock rock - (rockgoddess) Non "stealth rocks" that result in a "rock wreck" or "rock out".

spinal tapping - (320) Or just tapping for short. Specifically the act of "capping" a +10 weapon.

stealth rock - Refers to a rock that kills you, but you cannot verify the rock actually existed (no rock or bits of rock appear anywhere).

stupicide - Dying to your own stupidity.

toe jam - What you are after being instasquished.

transcape - (Grizzled_Imposter) The act of using a translocator to escape from a dire situation, be it falling or a large group of monsters.

transgression - (Spacey) Also transtep (Spike). Stepping on someone's translocator, cutting off their transcape. transagression is doing so intentionally, which can lead to a ban.

transicide - Dying through (mis)use of a translocator, IE, if warned that your translocator might be damaged, and you attempt to trans to it, you have committed "transicide". Also used to refer to accidentally recalling a safely placed translocator, rather than translocating to it, such as when falling.

transregret - (TheElectrician) The feeling you get when you are falling and realize you forgot to place your transolcator, or have accidentally recalled your placed translocator.

triple-bummer - (emetakleze) Forgetting to turn off your triple, which results in a large loss of adren - and you realize it when you need that adren for something.

vorpaly - (UntamedSub) The measure of how often a vorpal weapon vorpals. IE: "This thing hasn't popped yet! It not very vorpaly." Not to be confused with "vorpally".

vorpally - Rarely used, but can be used to explain how something was done. "Ooo got his highest score vorpally - he plus oned and doubled his vorp 10 shock." or "The only way I survived that wave alone was vorpally."

weapon devaluation - Or devalued my weapon. Any time a high damage/plus or otherwise popular weapon is accidentally changed via a Magic Weapon Maker (or, in this use, "Moron's Weapon Maker") into something less preferred. More generally, it can refer to any time an MWM is used and a lesser weapon results.

zone - (320) Also in the zone or zoning. When doing extremely well, but unaware of just how well, or sometimes, even the conversations going on over voice chat, you are "in the zone."

Howserfy**: transitive verb
Inflected Form(s): -fied; -fy·ing

A state of being approximate or equal to the coolness factor held by DoogieHowserMD.

"Wow, that transcape was so howserfied!"
"They should howserfy this map some."

**Please note: Howserfication has not actually been implimented in live gameplay on the DC servers as of this posting. But it totally should be. Like, for reals. The effect would be howserfying.

"Group Hug" - The act of many players getting close together so that a medic with a splash weapon can heal them all.

"pidle" - Going idle to pee.

"vorpalicious" - one of many variations of "vorpal" used to describe a particularly special vorpal based kill or sequence of kills, such as vorpaling a titan (particularly one getting ready to rock you) on the first shot, or vorpalling (most of) a string of titans to get a kill streak. "This is shock is very vorpaly; I got a vorpalicious monster kill on that titan wave."

We need one for suddenly entering into the path of a Titan's rock, usually by either coming around a corner only to have one seemingly waiting for you there, or actually translocating into an imminent strike.

Haven't come up with one for that yet Moof - still working on it. "Dodgicide" (specifically covering the case where you dodge into a rock that would have otherwise missed you)? "Rock surprise" doesn't quite have the ring to it that your definition deserves.

New (old?) terms:

"instasquished" - what happens to you when a Titan steps on you

"stupicide" - dying to your own stupidity

"devalued my weapon" - when an MWM is used (particularly accidentally) to change a perfectly good weapon (say, a Flak 5 or Vorpal Shock) into something that is less than it was. "Devorpaled" can be used specifically for vorpal weapons. Perhaps "MWM" could stand for "Moron's Weapon Maker" - and I think the MWM should be recoded to give you something useless like a +0 sturdy weapon when you change a vorp 10 shock.

"stealth rock" - this is a classic term - usually in reference to a rock you either didn't see coming or could not verify that it actually existed. For example, if you die to a "Titan's rock" but don't see said rock (or even bits of rock) after the death, you died to a "stealth rock"

"transicide" - The only time this should be applied to a death from a damaged translocator is if you've been warned, or even checked to see if your trans was damaged by attempting to recall it. Otherwise, this can refer to deaths caused by accidentally recalling a safely placed translocator, rather than translocating to it. Usually done while falling, this can be used to describe the failure to "transcape". The definition of "transcape" can be expanded to mean any escape from a perilous situation by use of a translocator.

"Blading", "Bladed" - any time another player uses a shield gun to kill a monster you've been pounding on with another weapon for a significant amount of time (or of course the act of doing this on a regular basis). I will occasionally ask blading players, "Who do you think you are? Blade?"

"Saw the show" - Died to a group of Queens. If you don't get the reference, I'll explain later.

I like the Stealth Rock one, as well as the Stupicide.

This comes from a different game, but could be used here as well. If you here the distinct sound of a Vorpal weapon being used, feel free to shout "Stop using Vorpal-Vorpal Stupid!"

- "rocked-out" - When a guy who has a good run up till then gets sent to the spectator zone by a titan rock.

- "the zone" - When you're tearin' up titans or whatever else with impunity. You're in the zone. Nothing can touch you. Luck is on your side and you're also hyper-alert. Death, by your hand, flows like melted butter. You hit F1, and you're amazed...

"Taming"

I'm still working on this one, but I was once in a game with my medic, leading the game. Wave 9 or so, (DC)UntamedSub came in, and by the end of Wave 11-12, had the lead by a couple hundred points.

That's pretty good - it's usually not hard for the higher level characters/skilled players to pull this off if they get in before 6 - 6 being where many folk make their move for the lead, knocking down strings of titans. However, as good as Untamed is, I would rather use the term:

"Froed" - When the leader of the game for several waves (1-5, or later), is passed by another player, particularly one that came in relatively late in the game (most accurately applied when the score differential between former leader and new leader is 100+ points within a wave), he/she has been "Froed". Named after the player (Fro) most likely to pull off the maneuver.

So you could say that Untamed froed you.

Titan waves in general seem to be pretty good for froing someone.

Since he cam in AFter the other players I think it should be af-froed.

Suddenly being killed by a rock that you did not know was there, such as by coming around a corner or by using your trans:

aSTONDed.

I know that this is bad, but I was using the thesauras, I was, don't look at me like that!

do we have one for when some one unexpectedly uses the trans to stop your deemer short, and within range of killing you, that kills him? or "seems" to purposfully jump in its way?

can we say that he pulled a slim pickins?

"Wassamattayoo?"

This term is used when a player (normally an inexperienced one) takes you out by intentionally firing a Redeemer at their feet or into a barrier in close proximity.

"Redeemerror"

An accidental "wassamattayoo?". An apology should follow.

"Deemoralized"

This term is used when someone else's Redeemer missle takes out a group of monsters a split second before your missle hits the exact same spot.

"Blockhead"

A monster or fellow player which unexpectedly steps directly into your path as you fire your Redeemer, summarily turning you into a fine red mist. (Can also be referred to as a Charlie Brown)

"Transregretion"

This term describes the feeling a player experiences when they are falling to their death off of a map and realize they forgot to plant their translocator somewhere.
