UT filk

Well, we have had poetry and other forms of art, so now for something completely different... filk.

For those of you who don't know what filk is, it is in short a song where you give it completely new lyrics. A great, full definition for it can be found here. Now some of you who have not been around that long may not realize that in the past, I have come up with some pretty good filk while playing, which is just an extension of my love of things like puns and filking in the SCA. For example, long ago, when the server was much less loaded, I would every so often ad-lib a filk version of [/url=http://www.peteyandpetunia.com/While/While.htm]While Strolling Through the Park One Day[/url] on the voice channel when flying the deemer around, and it would go something like this...

I went flying through the map one day

Hunting for a bug to slay

When much to its surpise

Right between the eyes

I hit it and really made its day!

Well, here is another one...which definitely dates me. How many of you remember Schoolhouse Rock? Well, this one is based off of Lolly, Lolly, Lolly, get your adverbs here, and it starts something like this...

With all my health I have no fear

Got my lightning, sniper and view so clear

So come and get your headshots here!

Then there is the one I have done for vorpal weapons, based on the chorus of Maxwell's Silver Hammer, which goes something like this...

Bang! Bang! Spacey's vorpal lightning

hit them right in the head.

Bang! Bang! Spacey's vorpal lightning

made sure that they were dead.

Now, besides posting something which we all no doubt will find funny, I wanted to see if anyone else ever found themselves doing something like this, and if so, to encourage you to post your filk here to share it with the rest of us.
