Well, my name is RadicalROM and I have been playing off and on for the last few days and I just wanted drop in and say hello to all.

Maybe one day I will be able to use my points on something cool. It is to early now, my levels are taking a very long time to make.

I have played RPG in the past, but this seems to be taking a lot longer. I think it is because of the higher leveled players taking the kills, but that is ok. It is all fun.

I have been playing online first person since the duke nukem 3d days. I like playing different styles of Unreal, so I can understand tricks for each style. Out of all of the styles, I do rather well on CTF or Deathmatch. Assault/modified Assault and Onslaught, I am good at, but need some improvement. For bombing run, I need major improvement in that game.

I live in Michigan (metro detroit area) and I am married and will be 38 here shortly.

Ok enough about me, take care and enjoy.

It usually isn't to the higher level players taking the kills. XP (at least on this server) is damage based, so as long as you do *something* to the monster, you should get some XP.

What's probably taking longer in your mind is that DC is set up to be significantly harder than some of the ludicrously configured systems out there. You only get 7 pts per level ... some servers give you more and have you leveling at rediculous rates. Eventually it should level off for you to where you're leveling around once a day, if you play solid (example: my 100+ level WM can make 2k+ a map ... but requires 10K per level - so for about 3 - 4 solid hours of play, I should be able to level him up ... granted I don't play him much any more - working on my medic ...)

It also depends on your profile - I work a standard 8 hour day, come home, usually play until I've gone through at least a full map, maybe two, and then take a break for 30 - 60 mins. Probably getting around 4 hours or so of play a night.

You missed it though - the server had a bad crash and we had a stretch with double xp - that was some fast leveling! IN addition, I think we're still on some reduced leveling requirements for levels 5-36 or so. So if you think it's slow now, try starting a character after we go back to normal leveling requirements!

Anyways, welcome to the server, and you'll get the hang of Invasion soon enough.

I agree, in previous RPG times, it usually would give me 15-20 per level for stat points. Yes, that is doubled then what this server is supporting.

For me it is about fun and yes advancing is nice. I do not play as much as you do. I always seem to have a long list from my wife, but I guess I average 2 hours a night which actually not bad for me.

I know in time, I will be a higher level and that is fine with me. I have read the FAQ on the forums and have a better understanding of this RPG server. The big difference from playing before is the MWM and the classes, which I was never familar with.

Anyway, take care.

Welcome to the server. This server is by far the best one I have ever played. You will get to know a lot of really cool players, and the higher level players never seem to tire of help out newbies. Good luck to you.

Heya R - welcome!

It has taken me a long time to get my character where it is now (around 70) but I've enjoyed all the time I've spent on this server. I only have a few hours per week to play, mostly on the weekends so I make very slooow progress but it is good company and the admins are terrific people

I agree with you and rockgoddess on that the higher level players and admins have always been friendly and very helpful. It sure is going to be a fun ride on the way up.
