I had played several maps in a row, but when we were transitioning (I believe to BridgeOfFate/CTF, but I'm not sure), I got a version mismatch on an automatic download called "MikeDemoLevel".
Not sure if it's related, but when the file is downloading, it goes to around 250% before it finishes.
I tried clearing my cache. I tried deleting MikeDemoLevel.utx from my installation directory in case the cached file conflicted with it, since I've had that happen for maps before. Unfortunately, that made UT not even start, apparently almost every map uses textures from that file. I tried re-extracting MikeDemoLevel.utx from the uz2 file on the installation DVD, but that did not change anything.
Now, I see that there are "0/20" players online. It looks like a bad utx file made it onto the server around midnight pacific, and is now preventing anyone from getting on.
I'm using 3369.2 on Linux, in case that matters.

Somehow this file is corrupt on the DC server. The server is attempting to push the corrupted file, but our clients aren't accepting it because it already exists as a core texture pack on our hard drives (I tried the erase and download method as well to no avail).
The map is CTF-BridgeOfFate, not somebody's custom map accidentally using an inapropriately named package, but a default map and default package.
Nobody can play on the server while maps using this texture file are up for play, in fact I'm not sure that anyone can log in until the server is reinstalled or the file is replaced. The four players depicted on the server status are bots.

This has to be the longest running single map ever played (err... perhaps not played) on this server. I hate it when things like this happen.

So that's the problem, I was wondering why the website said there is 4 players online and it wasn't showing who they were.

Has anybody looked for it in their cache and deleted the client side version yet?
If when the server pushes the one it wants down to you during map load sequence and it still doesn't work, then it is corrupt on the server.
It might be that the map has been updated, I dunno. It's just a thought.

It was actually showing up on a map that doesn't have this file. We restarted the server and solved the problem. In the meantime, I recompress the file on the redirect, just in case it was actually corrupt or different.
Sorry for the trouble.

The fundamental problem is this: The first word we learn as children is NO. From that point forward society teaches women that saying no isn't polite, and society teaches men to respect those who wont take no for an answer.
