Just got my 6800gs 256mb agp card! But there is a problem, getting alot of artifacts. (pyrimids, texture lines all over the place.) Any ideas? I have gotten the latest driver for it (unfortunatly, they are still in beta, nvidia has yet to release a true one) updated my mobo drivers, tried milllions of settings , made sure the power (12 v) had nothing else running on it. (ps is 450 w) all to no avail.

Try and get a hold of some older drivers.
I updated the drivers for my card once and I got artifacts and stuff. I had to use the old drivers until a new batch of drivers came out.

Are you using the latest UT version? Might not make much of a difference, but still. Also, is the card getting the appropriate amount of power from the molex, if it uses one? Do you get artifacts while surfing the Internet, or any other non-gaming things? Got the latest DX version? What else...

In other words, is the card getting power from the power cable and not just drawing from the AGP slot?
I would guess yes because if you dont have the power cable plugged in or it doesnt draw any power from it, the card usually wont display anything at all.
The only further question about it would be to take a multimeter and see if its getting the whole 12 volts.
I agree about the drivers. Dont use beta drivers unless you have a really good reason. Go back and grab the most recent official release.

Yeah Eme, I have a 6800GT which is pretty closely related to your card. It has a 4 pin Molex power connecter on the top right corner of the card. That is to say opposite of the VGA connector side, and opposite of the motherboard side. That far corner on my card requires a Molex power connection. When my PSU started to dump out on me the card would still run, just not UT.

PSU is pretty new, 450 watt, 15 amps on the +12. Yeh, it's plugged in and I checked it with a voltmeter and its hot. Got tech support on phone now from xfx, I'll let you guys know how it turns out, thanks for the help so far! (cross your fingers that it's something stupid)

when you handle a card be carefull oil from your fingers can cause damage to your card...also rings metal ect .while installing can also do this..
and em .. please do not use beta drivers...the best driver as of yet is the 77.77 driverits an older driver ..but has... no problems at all.. the new 80 drivers work 100 pct only with new cards.. your card drivers range from 60. to 77. all else is crappy..
beta and overclocked cards can and will harm your computer..all nvidia card drivers are in thier driver archive.
