serpentee is pretty cool, how about slangin it up a bit? slerpee...
oh and Cham the place you are talking about to sex them is called the cloaca.
you are right about the spurs though. if you only have one its hard to tell if they are large or small , and they dont really grow much for a couple of years. Sexing it shouldn't matter much unless you plan on breeding it, which i highly recommend against if this is your first herp. and i still like steve the best for the name. oh almost forgot, make sure it has a hide box, somewhere where it can curl up inside and feel safe. snakes stress real easy. it's good to give them a hide box that is small enough for them to feel at least a couple sides when they are inside.

Yah, I wouldn't want to breed them either. Yah, the cloaca you can find the hemipenes. Not many people would actually do that, though. Let me know when you do the first feeding Pyro.

I'm prolly not one to have a snake in the future, but they're quite cool... however I do have some names for you.
The first one is Beetlejuice just for your Avatar, the second would be Fluffy just because it's ironic, and lastly a friend suggested to call it Monty the Python ... those are just a few if you're looking for humorous
LMAO!! Those names rock! You guys are killin me with these names lol! Very good! I also got some names from family members. Like... Nagini (Harry Potter) Voldemort (harry Potter) Kaa (jungle Book) Hiss (Robin Hood) Ringo, cuz of the ring he has on him. Uraeus (egyptian) But i like that Monty name lol or beetlejuice, those are awesome ideas! Keep em comin all! teeheehee!
Oh and thx for the tips on snakes, fortunatly i werked at a pet store for 4 years so i know most of that stuff already, im havin a hard time with the temp. tho, My heat lamp broke so i have to wait till pay dayto get a new one. I still have alot to buy for him. I hold him as much as i can and he finds nice places to curl up in when i do hold him For now i think im just ganna put a heat pad under the cage. Just until i can get him a heat lamp so he gets the UV rays he needs. This is the 2nd snake i have owned. Thax tho for the advice!

You should always have a heat pad under his tank on one side. He needs different temps on both sides so he can regulate himself. As for a heat lamp a regular incandescent bulb will work fine, preferrably at least 75 watts. How big is his enclosure? Oh and if it's a girl how about Karen. Or maybe Sue...

If you are looking for ambiguous names how about Terry? or Pat? Ironic, Saint Patrick drove the snakes from Ireland.

Yup, very cool feeling. Who knew snakes could be so cuddly? Have you decided which name you like yet?
