Just got the same thing in the middle of a game and when I came out I couldn't access the internet. I rebooted but still no internet. I reset my modem and everything was back to normal, even my UT2004. That's all I can tell you.

You mean I really am important? How I feel when I'm drunk is correct?

DRM aka evil corporate money grubbers. Our rights as consumers have been completely removed by businesses dealing in intelecutal property all in the name of anti-pirating. DRM is Digital Rights Management. This is the same thing keeping us from having High Def DVD. The Motion Picture Association of America does not want to allow their movies to be made into high definition DVD's until they get some uber-big brother digital rights software that can actually prevent your DVD player from playing certain media. The problem isn't getting the software to wreck your hardware, everyone is pretty much in agreement that they WILL do it, the sticking point is on whose hardware to use, either Blu-Ray or the other Dual layer technology. But back on tangent I think this is probably some type of DRM for UT, and if you have seen the train wreck that HALF LIFE 2 makes you go through, you will understand how subtle UT DRM is. You actually had to install a whole seperate program called STEAM to play HALF LIFE 2 online. I uninstalled the entire game and through it in the Dumpster when I realized how bad it was. Just wish they would have made that known to us before we shelled out 50 bucks for the game. But I'm not bitter.

I think something else is up. The master server maintains that your CD key & IP are unique. Beyond that, it makes sure that you're running an official patch; this is for the security of epic making sure that their coffers are being filled, but also for our server to make sure you aren't using some hacked up client with an aimbot.

Glad it's fixed.

The fundamental problem is this: The first word we learn as children is NO. From that point forward society teaches women that saying no isn't polite, and society teaches men to respect those who wont take no for an answer.

I couldn't even get the single player to work without steam up and running, it had rot written all over it! And I had a heck of a time uninstalling it too, kept coming back so I ended up having to delete it all manually via safe mode and run a registry cleaner (which I don't like to do at all) to remove the last vistages of it. Shesh, like you said 50 smackers to basically hack my computer by them so they know I didn't get an illeagle copy of their uber game that imho was just the first 3 games regurgitated with a new engine and they forgot to throw up a decent story line with it.....<sorry, had to rant. Loved the originals and hoped this one was going to blow them all away. >

As far as I know its only the master server that will give you the message. If you have a favorite marked or an IP address this shouldn't affect you.
