Has anybody else noticed that force weapons do less damage? It takes me 3 shots to kill a skaarj with a rocket launcher of force +5, while it only takes 2 shots with a plain +3 rocket launcher. This goes for other force weapons as well, I noticed it takes quite a fair amount of damage (and ammo) to kill monsters with force weapons.
Has anybody else noticed this with force weapons, or am I alone on this?

yes, its not the force wich does the less damage here, but the normal +3 that does more damage,
no name = more damage
[i know you proberly dindt meant that]
but i can confirm that there is nothing in the code that should make it deal less damage, not in the force code that is.

You want to be careful - swearing will get you banned
I think you only get the +damage and extra effect on Druids weapons, not the base RPG weapons.
for example, the RPG FAQ page for force says
Projectiles shot by this weapon are 20% faster for each +.
whereas Druids weapons e.g. freezing say
+2 = 20% more Damage and 2 Second Freeze
so this would also apply to protection, poison and energy.
I hadn't noticed that either. Energy!!!

Szlat, why you comenting on swearing ?
and for the + damage, if you have a weapon without a name, it is the normal damage magic weapon.
and we know the + damage is only on druids weapons,
most weapons without, are from basic rpg that he has not changed.
[and do not ask me why he has on infinity because he only changed that on inf anyway]

It was a joke about the title of the thread. (Not a good one I know, mine never are! )

These weapon modifiers do not do more damage in the regular sense:
Protection
Force
Poison
Luck
Energy
Each + in protection, gives you an additional 10% in damage reduction.
Each + in Force increases projectile speed by 20%.
Each + in poison is a mystery to me.
Each + in Luck increases the frequency (and perhaps magnintude) of stuff that pops up in front of you (I am unsure because Dru has made modifications to this modifier)
Each + in Energy gives (I think) +1% energy leech. Or something.
This is where things get compicated.
Sturdy
Penetrating
Piercing
Infinity
Each + in any of these three is an increase in damage by +10% in damage. This is a modification Dru has made. No matter what the modifier is on any of these three weapons, it only affects damage. It will not affect Sturdyness, Penetratingness, Piercingness, or infiniteness.
Bonus Information
What is:
Sturdy? Keeps you from getting bounced around from enemy fire. (like Skaarj shock balls usually luanch you 50 feet when hit. Not when you have a sturdy equipped)
Penetrating? Hitscan weapon fire will go through the enemy and hit whatever enemies/wall is behind the enemy you first hit. The primary fire with the Shock Rifle is usually the best time you can get a Pentrating modifier.
Piercing? Ignore an enemy players shield/armour. Or something. The fact of the matter is, is it only has an affect against aother players. But there's little PvP action on this server, so it is a largely usually modifer.
Infinity? I don't have to explain this one.
All other weapons that have stars (*) in their name, with the exception of healing I believe, do +10% damage per + in addition to modifying the weapon modifier. So a +10 vorpal does +100 damage AND has a 5% (I think, I haven't played for a long time) to instagib, wheras a +9 would have +90% damage and a 4% chance for instagib.
It's complicated :( If you've played Mysterials RPG a bunch, then it's pretty easy to differentiate whats what. But if Druids RPG is the only RPG you've ever known... than it will be more difficult to get unconfused.
And if you're not confused yet... then how about this: It takes an hour for me to get pizza delivered to my house and I live in a big city >:(
p.s. I am awesome :D

To put it simply, a +3 Protection Flak gives the same damage as a regular flak, but gives you extra protection while using it. But a +3 freezing flak gives you 30% more damage than that regular flak?
Also, concidering your pizza delema:
for every extra topping you have to add an extra 1% of time except in inclimate weather such as:
Snow: add 3.2%, add an extra .03% for each mile and .025% for each degree F below 32.
Rain: add 2.1% and the .02% for each mile, temp. doesn't seem to effect time for delivery
Rush hour: add 10% for the 5:00 pm hour then subtract .5% for each minute on either side of that time.
Previous orders:add .6% for your position down from the top on the pizza scale of 1 to 10 of "preferred customer" status. (be aware that the further down the scale you are, not only will the delivery take longer, but you may get a few "extra" toppings. THIS IS NOT A GOOD THING)
Calculated out properly you will see why the pizza takes an hour.

The FAQ is inaccurate. This is the way it's supposed to work.

The fundamental problem is this: The first word we learn as children is NO. From that point forward society teaches women that saying no isn't polite, and society teaches men to respect those who wont take no for an answer.

Cloud is correct in all of his statements, at least all that I noticed.

So is it going to be changed in a future update so that protection, force, poison, luck and energy weapons have bonus damage?

Only the great Dru would know, but my best guess is that if Dru had wanted it that way, he would have changed it a long time ago.

Which parts are wrong?
The bits on Sturdy, Penetrating, Piercing and Infinity don't mention that that they can have a + modifier (except under Other enhanced weapons).
Otherwise I can't see what is wrong? (I must be getting blind - too much playing UT into the late hours )
I think people have assumed a +1 always meant 10% more damage, perhaps with some other benefit as well.
Perhaps it may be clearer to combine it into one big table.
