For some odd reason, all the screenshots I take turn out black. I haven't figured out why. Has this happened to anyone else? And can I fix it without reinstalling UT04?

i had this problem tonight. I changed the resolution and it worked fine. you could also use printscreen as well and paste it into paint.

in the console ~ type setres ####x#### to change the resolution on the fly. mine was 1440x900 and producing black images, I changed to 1024x768 (good size for map preview screens ) and it worked fine.

Thanks, I'll try that tonight. I've got the highest res. setting I could get. But it worked fine up until about a week ago. Could going into the screenshots folder while in game do that?

I've been doing that, and I haven't had any trouble with screenshots.

You have an nVidia Card?????

irrc some versions of their drivers do that. You should try upgrading and if that doesn't work try to find the version just before the latest.

A lot of people have posted about the nVidia/UT2004 issue on BeyondUnreal Forums (and probably plenty of other places)

I also have black images after taking a screen shot. I have adjusted the res to various settings and tried each one but still left with black images. The 'alt-print screen' then paste to paint works but what a pain.

any other ideas?

I have the nVidia GeForce 8800

Yeah, I think I have an Nvidia (not sure which kind), but it worked fine up until then. I upgraded about four days before things started to go wrong.

Is there a way to tell what you have for the Nvidia? Like going into the panels for it and looking somewhere?

yeah right click my Computer, Properties, go under Hardware and click Device Manager. There should be display devices or something and your video card should be in that subcategory.
