Ok, random question. How can I put a Demo recording of the game onto a viewable form for people I know who want to see what we're like in action. I tried tonight and got nowhere, plus weapons don't show. Is this normal, or just me?
If you want to try here's what you put in the commandline after pressing the '~' key:

Demorec (name) Records a demo of your current game, the (name) is the name the demo will be saved under in the UT2004/Demos folder

StopDemo Stops recording the demo

Have you tried using fraps?

Anyone with UT can play the demo, place the demo into the deomo folder then go to the community options from the main ut menu and you can play the demo from there. I think that the weapons not showing up are because you were playing on the server so your computer wasnt given a permanent record of what weapon you were using (assuming you have ut2004 rpg & the version of druids rpg that was running when the demo was made) I do remember a few of my crosshairs showed up but it did seem random (weapons are hidden for me anyways)

ohh and 2nd the fraps, its limited on resolution (640x480?) and displays a small add for a short time but its a nice free little program, much better than binding dumpframsstart and dumpframesstop (although those are good for short clips) and barely slows my cpu down when recording.

If you come across anything else post it though

I tried gettng fraps, but I don't have the money to pay for it yet. Plus, it's only a thirty second rec isn't it?
I've tried single player recordings too, all the same. No weapons showing up except for in the hands of other players, even then I get problems. Plus, the only way I have Druids RPG is by this server. I can't get it otherwise.
Plus, isn't there a way to get it into a downloadable format? I think AVI is what they call it. Is there a special player needed to view it?

I'm also going to try again tonight if I can. Not sure what it'll do this time, but I'll try out a fraps demo I found.

Fraps is free although the free version has a small add at the top center (you can barely see it actually).

Not sure but I think it encodes to wmv but windows comes with Windows Movie Maker (at least xp pro des) which can save in multiple formats and has a few limited editing tools.

Under community/Demo there's a button on the bottom that says "create avi"

So, you should be able to convert it to avi there. I didn't have the patience to wait for it to get done. It looked like it was going to take a while.

Fraps slows my machine down too much to use. Drops my framerate down to 10 - 15.

Yeah, I tried that. The AVI creating takes way too long. Plus, I don't have the time to let it work most of the time. It is possible to set up the demo4 file for download? That might help out.
I tried the Frapps demo, it was only a thirty second thing. That poses a problem for a full example of what we can dop during a match. I'll try it anyway though, thanks for the link.

hmm my version is a couple months but you can record as long as you want (first 30 seconds have the add though)

I'll take another look at it then. If i get anything, I'll try and see if it'll play with some other form of player. Any way I can get it into Media player or Quicktime format, or are they automatic?

There are quite a few programs out there for re-compiling video. PSP-9 for example is a free program that changes movie formats to Mpeg-4 (I think, don't quote me on that).
