UT3: First Impressions (i.e. did your machine run it?)

Got it this afternoon. Had a collector's ed. on reserve at Gamestop.

Gamestop gave away a nice little bonus with the pre-order....a copy of "Unreal Anthology", which contains the original Unreal and its expansion pack, the first UT, Unreal 2, and UT2K4.

Game installed fine and ran without a hitch on the first try.

First impression of the campaign mode (keeping in mind I haven't played much of it yet) is that it actually looks better and runs smoother than the demo. NOTE: I am running the latest beta Nvidia driver. Gameplay on DM games is the same as the demo so far.

Menus seem to be the same as the demo. Haven't messed around with the friend/invite system yet, so hopefully they improved upon that a little.

So far, I gotta say I'm pretty impressed and happy with the look and feel of the game.

I'll add more thoughts as I play more of the game.

But, so far, so good.

I received the Collector's Edition along with Unreal Anthology at 10:00AM this morning. According to the Associate working he said the game had just arrived earlier that morning. They asked me to wait ten minutes so they could open the shipment. So I waited patiently and got my copy of UT3 along with Unreal Anthology. After receiving both games, I must say I rushed right home to install the game. The installation went off without a single problem.

Moving onto how the game performs, I am running a resolution of 1152X864 with the latest Nvidia drivers. Everything is maxed out except for Anti Aliasing and Antisoptric Filtering. I am still trying to get used to the game before I even up the image quality. The gameplay is very smooth, it's not as responsive as UT04 but it feels more realistic. It takes a whole lot less for you to die then in UT04 when you could take a licking and keep on kicking. It takes just less than a direct hit from flak to be shredded. All in all it's very well balanced game. I am thoroughly impressed so far.

The system is what I am running below and I must say I am impressed.

I'm in the same boat, stuck with the demo till then...

Took a break from ut2004 ... bought ut3 other day ..im impressed.. granit its new release.. so expect changes ..as in patches..same ole same ole..

the game itself is sweet.,link gun is narly.. graphix are realy good ., no 3rd person view yet.. but ..its worth a go .i like it ..get it .play with me. .

I'm pretty blown away with the game right from the start. Without amping up any settings the gameplay is super smooth and the graphics are first class. I'm running;
