I'm sure with all the talk about min. requirements and so forth, that many of us were left with one question: Is my machine going to run it, and if so, how well?.
Ok, my rig stats:
P4 3Ghz (Prescott)
1MB PC3200 ram (duel channel)
ATI Radion 9800 Pro 256MB
Raptor 10K 76GB up front doing the legwork.
On the system score posted in another thread, I got a 6.144...blah blah. I was skeptical to say the least.
I DLed the demo in 17mins and installed. I can say this, the menu navigation is a but awkward. First rez installed was 640 x 480 *ick* I upped it to 800 x 600 not knowing how it would be. I didnt change the advanced video setting, I didnt see them at first after playing a while. With that said, it was all set to the lowest for detail and all that. Gameplay was good, I guess. Movement was realistic rather than slow due to system speed. I say this cuz after a few rounds of DM, I increased the rez to 1024 x 768. Didnt have any affect on the game speed that I could tell. Then I discovered the advanced settings. I upped the sliders to half way and went back in. Ahhh, it looked much better. But, I still didnt notice a significant drop, if any, in game speed. So I said "lets go for it all" and upped the sliders to max. There was no AA and AS settings that I could find. So I ran with it like that. It still ran just fine. Now, it may have be a little slower, but not what I would have expected from max settings. I did have to set my mouse setting and brightness to max just to make it playable.
No, it's not as responsive as UT2K4. That turns on a dime and is just fluid. This was more realistic in movement, even in vehicles. Is it suppose to be or will it move better with a faster machine? That is for the rest of you with newer machines to post below. But for now, I'm content that it plays well enough for me to contend, against average Bots. Curious about online play against y'all is yet to be seen. And where can I change my character? I looked, but admitadly, not very hard.
Overall, I say

Just played a quick map (5 kill DM).
AMD 3500+ X64
XP PRO 32
2 GB Kingston HyperX
Evga 6800GTX
First impressions:
Wait was 45 minutes, download took 9 minutes, and setup took about 10.
Agree with Flak, menu setups are a bit awkward. Gore level left at default.
Resolution was set for 1600X900 right off the bat, with no advance adjustments done.
Again, I agree with Flak. Player movement is more natural and total view from the HUD is VERY good and realistic. I got hit a couple of times due to just looking around and playing with the various items scattered around the map.
DM map rendering is excellent, no bodies stuck in walls/doors, and the rag-doll physics is wonderful.
I will be playing some more of the demo and will play with settings, but I think I'm in love.

It runs decent on my computer, but for the amount of detail in the game I'm pretty pleased with how it is working now. The menu's are a bit confusing at first, especially since you have to tweak the graphics yourself.
Nvidia Gforce 7800 GT
Pentium 4 3.2ghz
2 GB ram
I've only run into one problem and that was a major crash from my video driver failing while loading a game. I've only played one game online, but overall this game is a blast.

AMD 64 x2 6000
2GB DDR2 800
Dual radeon 2600xt
xp 32bit
I was getting 25-30 fps with the video settings maxed at 1680x1050.
It seems a little slower paced that 2k4, but that might because I played on DC for so long . It doesn't take many shots to kill somebody with any gun. It seems easier to get head shots with the sniper rifle.
The hover boards are fun to run around on, but think i like the translocator method of travel better.
kinda lame, can't change your character on the demo.
Looks very pretty .
I wasn't able to connect to any of the servers online, I didn't try all that hard though.
Overall, let say I can't wait for it to come out.

Mine is a P4 2.8ghz, 1 gig (soon to be 2), and Radeon 9200 (soon to be x1650 assuming my laptop battery holds out so I can order it). I tried running the beta last night but it bombs every time I try opening the program. Yay me! Not sure what it is yet, haven't had the time to sort everything out.
edit: Still no luck trying to install it. Though I did play it on my roommate's computer and it's pretty cool! That AT-ST-looking vehicle is a bit devastating, I hope it gets tweaked before the final version.

CPU: C2D E6600 @ 2.7ghz
RAM: 2gb OCZ PC6400
GFX: X1900GT
Settings at second highest (4/5) with 1440x900 rez. Runs fine at avg 35-40fps, so might try upping to max later. Plays more closely to the original (UT99) than UT2k3/4 does. DM still feels like the usual DM, but VCTF is quite different, the vehicles feel more fluid i think. Also, the overall sound effects are better with the whole game sounding more brutal and gritty.
Overall, pretty good. Mods will no doubt have something for everyone.

Core 2 E6400 @ 2.13 ghz
1Gig of DDR2 800 RAM
GeForce 7900GS
Windows XP
Tried unsuccessfully to get this baby off the ground. Got it all the way to loading up a game of deathmatch with bots before it crashed.
According to the readme file, the demo doesn't like the 7900 series Nvidias....looks like it's true. BTW, their "workaround" didn't work...around.
It also said that "certain" Nvidia video cards may need to download the newest forceware driver for the demo to work. Did that, and no dice. I get to look at all the pretty splash screens (this game is an Epic studios production of an Intel powered, Nvidia sponsored, Midway games...blah, blah) and once in a while the demo will get to the main screen before melting down my entire system.
The demo causes my whole system to reset. Needless to say, there are some major compatability issues going on here.
....Not to mention that Nvidia is on my naughty list lately for their craptacular drivers they keep releasing. The current driver version causes Oblivion to crash on my machine, and the version before that had some scaling issues on my display so that when viewing at 1680x1050, the screen was scaled to large, and I would have to scroll left and right to view my desktop.
Anyhoo...it's called a beta for a reason. No big deal. I have my copy of UT3 on reserve, so hopefully they work out the compatability issues. I'm not willing to upgrade a vid card that is not even a year old yet.

Those players that like to use the raptors will be thrilled with the new design and handling. It was fun to fly with them.
However, my 6800 gtx card does not like the higher resolutions with everything set to max-very very laggy.

Seems that the Epic people are starting to resolve some compatability issues. I got the demo up and running thanks to another change made to one of the config files.
For anyone having issues with the demo, go here:
http://gearsforums.epicgames.com/forumdisplay.php?f=336
The "FAQ" sticky thread was what helped me out.
As for the game itself:
Very nice to look at. I get pretty decent frame rates even with everything maxed out.
Gameplay is decent. Menus are a bit clunky. Weapons are nifty and will take some getting used to, as they handle a bit differently. Vehicles are fun.
I like the game so far, and with a few tweaks it should be a lot of fun.

P4 3.0 ghz
Abit NI8 mobo
1 GB pc5400 667 dual channle
maxtor 10K 80 GB HD
XFX 6800 gs XXXedition
Download stopped a couple of times for some odd reason, but it installed fine. Set up for mid range play @ 1024x768. Played for 2 maps (Great look to it, only stuttered a couple of times, usually when a new gun was fired (bio globs, rockets and shock ball did seem to happen a couple of times though) Then my whole machine just went black. HD was reading on and off about 3 times per sec. Shut down and started back up fine, so I'm thinking either it got hot or a driver issue. Haven't had time to play again though..
All in all, pretty cool.

Overall very pleased!!
Except 2 things.......why have the hoverboard if you cant fire you weapons when riding it???? And I hate how you faceplant off the hoverboard after taking even the slightest damage......you just lay there and then the other guy finishes you LOL
The vehicles seem a little sluggish to drive also you have to almost have to turn well before you actually want to......
Hey I wouldnt be me if I didnt complain a little.....

I think I'm gonna give up on the beta. After perusing the Epic forums it seems like I'm definitely not the only one getting weird kernel errors. None of the fixes provided work for my computer, so no demo for me.

the beta doesnt run on my computer, the farthest i could get it was to show me some logos but thats it, after that it would lock up, show me an error, then make my icons giant so i had to reset my comp.

well it runs and not too badly considering
amd 64x2
duel 4000+
2 G ram
nvdia 6150e <-- thats the considering lol
running
1024*768
max detail
50% render
still looks pixelated but oh well
haven't played much but the first thing I noticed is that you have 'weight'
actually feels like your running around
the weapons look great and seem to function well, vehicles drive 'differently' don't know if I like them or not
because I'm not much of a deathmatch guy anymore it took some adjusting to the fact that seeing anyone is very difficult and everything seemed greyish
(could be my crappy vid card though) , gonna try some online tommorow
so far its gonna require a new vid card for me so... its a buy when it goes on sale or maybe at christmas
any word on invasion doesn't say its out but doesn't say its 'in'

I bought this card with a mail in rebate:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814102073
Though the performance enhancement for my system remains to be seen... and it's Directx 9. However, it definitely doesn't break the bank, which was the biggest factor in my case. I did see a couple of variations of the same card for PCI Express, and I think the buying period for the mail in rebate ends today. So if that interests you, ya better jump on it.
