Ideas for new mall-themed map

Great, thanks for all the help Flak and everyone else.

I think we've got enough options on large stores (there will just be 2 or 3, including Seer's) although options for Dillards and JC penny's, Mervyn's etc might be good too. There are going to be a lot of smaller shops like shoes, GNC, health food, bookstores, knicknacks, Spencer's that sort of stuff, so that's where I need more help at the moment.

At the moment, the banner has Famous Fragware as it was the easiest to modify. But I'm open to suggestions.

Ok, tackled the Starbucks logo I grabbed a while ago. First swing at it. Made me think of the oil situation on the gulf at the moment. It's a biggie..

wow nice work... okay i have a few ideas... first off the soda can idea that clone mentioned was suppose to be posted here on this thread and it was meant for an idea of a vending machine. If not the unreal ed logo then perhaps a DC logo?

Anyway my other ideas were stores for each individual class... for example the medic monster class could be like a pharmaceutical or a petco or petsmart whichever you guys decide on. The one for the weapons master could be like a gun shop, ranging in different weapons of course. And for the engineer could be like a home depot except just for engineers. And i think you guys already tackled the adrenaline master with the candy shop.

And since the addition of the general class i was thinking of a walmart since those stores now have everything

... like a super walmart

Ok entirely by coincidence I was just working on a vending machine design:

The Dr Lecter machine is my own texture, the phone and snack machine are used with permission from Shokazulu's Urban Bay map.

I'm taking the ideas for class specific stores in consideration, but I am working on this map for a general audience as well as for DC invasion. That's why I'm shying away from making anything too specific to (or too specialized for) DC, either in gameplay or content. It would be possible to make this map too easy for invasion on this server - if you've played on Death Warrant's server, for example, they have a lot of custom maps with an overkill of health, adren and superweapons. These maps are popular because they're easy, so more maps are made the same way and pretty soon it kills the gameplay. Another issue with making areas for specific classes is that when the map finally makes it to the server, players will figure out the most effective techniques for the map, and they might not correlate with what we came up with for classes.

Sorry for the rant. That's why I'm trying to make it balanced for normal play first and foremost. I'm also trying to keep the theme close to what I've seen in real malls, so stores like Home Depot or WalMart don't fit very well, and I only have room for a handful of the large dept stores, most will be small shops.

well since we more commonly do invasion monster energy drinks would be more along the theme

I had thought about that...but nothing hit me right away to go forward with it.

Nobody voted on the Famous Footwear options, so I went with what I have.

added grenade instead of cartridge base

maybe a grenade instead of the back side of a shell casing...since the term "frag" is from using a fragmentation grenade on someone.

it would be just a little more true to the name

I'll see what I can do... A more modern baseball granade would probably be best rather than an older lemon or pineapple.

Anyway, was thinking of a mall name and banner. Stumbled upon a site that inspired this. It's a start. Still messin with it.

My monitor is old and somewhat dim, so some blending issues may show up where I can't see them. Probably most prevalent in the sombrero galaxy area.
