As for DC ..How long do you guys reckon it will take for DC ..if it will ..move from 04 --> 07or will a 2ndary when start up along side it? (cus you have to convert all the Code of RPG stuff to the new invasion..then youve got ur new vehicles..wep design (so thus diff skins)...turrets..and many other things..soo....with that in mind..Ill wager.......bout......late 08-09? ealieest?...(hopefully enough time for the prices to drop..me to get a job..then laptop...then UT 3....along with halo 3 + 360....

Well the calacualtor doesnt have EVERY possible vid card and other wise hardware..so thus...He mite be asking cus it may not be there..o.0....and near miss is exaclty that ..

My current rig scores a 16.589394.

CPU: Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4
GPU: nV 7600GT 256
HDS: 7200 RPM
RAM: 2 Gig

Upping the GPU to nV 8800GTS (any) kicks the score up to 21.13884, a 4.549446; a 27% gain. If I up the GPU to the max, nV 8800 (SLI), the score goes to 22.977, only 8.6% from the 8800GTS. Upgrading the HDS, CPU, or RAM has even worse results in terms of score increase.

Looking at tigerdirect.com, an 8800GTS with 320MB (320? Why not the holy binary-divisible number 256 or 512?) costs $280. Adding a "GTX" to it brings the tag up to at least $500, and "Ultra" is $630. Of course, SLI would double the price in any of these cases.

So, it looks like it's better to upgrade the videocard first, and to a "cheap" ($200-$300) 8800GTS, since it doesn't seem worth it to upgrade any further, GPU or otherwise. Keep the money, buy Orange Box, and play Portal!

Just got notified by Amazon.com that my pre-order (done 09/29/07) for UT3 has a shipment date of 10/08/07 and delivery date of 11/26/07, but also states that the game is "in transit." Go figure as I can't see UPS sitting on the package for a month!!!!!
