My AMD 3500+ score is 13.39 and the new Intel score is 20.2. My old Sempron 3200+ came out to 10.48.

Seems that the chart places a lot of emphasis on the video cards and RAM more than the processor speed.

Well there goes my self esteem. My PC scored a 6 (eep! Time for an upgrade), and since PowerPC is not listed as a processor, I'm estimating that my Mac is a 13 to 15. Excuse me while I go into the bathroom to cry.

You save 43% on the pre-order, total cost for UT3 $33.94 USD including shipping.

And yes, I have pre-ordered.

I think my next step will be buying more ram and a new vid card. I could bump up my ram to 2 gigs and replace my radeon 9200 with an x1650. Hopefully this will only set me back a little over $150... don't have enough for an entirely new system! May the power of ebay protect my wallet.

That card seems to be running between $70 and $170.00

Here is a Gforce 8800 GT for 119.00

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3048552&Sku=P450-8650

but of course I recommend waiting as long as possible before making a decision on hardware. prices tend to drop at the worst possible time. I also recommend using a credit card with purchase protection. I started using one earlier this year and have not had to deal with "buyers remorse" or watching what I just bought take a nose dive in price without the ability to do something about it.

Hmm... I'm just wondering but I have the 7800 GT right now and I heard that the 8800 demands a completely different motherboard and I think processor or something.... do you happen to know what it demands over say the 7800 cause I'm very interested in the future.

I also had a question for all of you brainiacs out there. I have a 3 ghz intel NI8 sli mobo, 1 gb ram(dual channle), gforce 6800 gs. I was thinking of bumping ram to 2 gb dc, and another 6800 gs in sli mode. Would that pump the old edsel full with enough nitro to play reasonably well?

The main thing you have to watch out for is AGP versus PCI Express. The 7800 is an Express card, so you should be good to go, however it's a different story for me. My PC is AGP only, so I have a limited selection to choose from.
