Webste shows a guess on the system requirements. If this is true, my computer 'may' be able to run it, but I doubt I will be able to even buy the game anyways.

Then again these are near to MINIMUM req....If you want the idel gaming.as in to run graphics at middle..to high then you need a good setup...*cough*demon*cough*

NO WAY........if those are the minimum requirements, then my new top-of-the line pc will not run the game either. My quad core processor is rated at 2.66 Ghz!!!!!!! and the reference cites 2.8 Ghz for the minimum.

My thinking is that any AMD 939 pin or Intel P4 single core X64 processor with a gig of RAM and the minimum of a single 6800GT/GTX video card (or the equal for those who like the other brand) will run the game just fine with framerates set low. Yes, the dual/quad cores will run the game better and faster but they will not be necessarily the only way to go.

BTW Jason, are you hinting at something?

Well, your computer is faster then mine. My comp is over two years old. I don't even have a dual core processor. Just a regular P4 H/T. I have the RAM requirements, but not the video. I have a 3 year old ATi 9800 Pro that probably won't run it. Oh well, I won't be concerned with it since it would cost too much to upgrade anything. I know they typically overrate these things, though. In the past, I've seen programs run on much slower machines then they rate on the box.

Right now I'm running a 2 year old AMD 3500+ X64 single-core with a 6800GT and 1 gig of RAM, which is not a whole lot faster than your current pc. What I'm trying to get at is the requirements as listed on the link are totally out of wack.

If a pc is Vista capable, then it should be able to run UT3 without any problems. No one should have to upgrade to a new machine just to play UT3. The most likely upgrade to anyone's pc would be to a faster video card and/or more RAM unless you have a very old AMD XP/Intel P4.

The major reason for my upgrade is the amount of multitasking I do while on the pc, except when I'm playing. There are time that I will have 10 or so windows open, with 3 or 4 internet tabs open.
