Good point. More fun, as the higher levels were getting a bit stuck on piercing weapons.
Honestly what choice do we have when the low levels all die in the later waves? High levels need to win the map, the only way to do that is to stock up on piercing weps, you cant even kill a skarj without them.

rods greatest power is 100% hit rate and multi hit although minor damage
Best vs 10 + guys at once
and for the vorpal thing 3/10 if using triple but i think each + should be.75% or .5% chance of vorpal not 1%( and a true maxed vorpal is +11 [for adren])

I don't know how it is on your server, but here on DC we have absolutely NO problem with WMs being underpowered. And here on DC our adrenaline masters are also the most fragile class.

I'd like to repeat my question: Does a person using a piercing weapon receive the benefits of Damage Bonus?

The piercing weapon works out the damage in exactly the same way as other weapons - applying the damage bonus and damage reduction.
The piercing weapon then compares this modified value to the orginal value, and chooses whichever is best.
The piercing then adds on the weapon damage bonus (5% for each +).
Then any stats bonuses like enhanced damage get added on.
So basically, if you have more DB than the monster DR, then yes it will use DB and DR. If you have less DB than the monsters DR, it will ignore both.

Hehe...Grizzled's remark reminds me of the fact that statioanry sents can be 'nulled'.(they get the texture...well for null queens for sure..cant remember the null lords..think so..)..so thats an interesting fact.. ....
(that and you tank can get poisoned o.0....)...anyways.. .

Monster weapons are currently all hard coded, so are all fixed property, and do not pick up any of the standard RPG Weapon power-ups that the players get.
Looking at the code further, I think you are probably correct. It looks like when I added the freezing bit to the bit of code where the projectile hits something, I seem to have removed the explode call - so the projectile doesn't get destroyed on the hit. So, it may well be penetrating. ooops.
I will fix in cvs tonight, ready for the next build.

If you feel the need to nerf the power of certain weps (piercing in this case) and not allow the triple to be used with it I can understand that, but I think higher level players scoring massively with piercing weapons is simply a reflection of the server right now.
This server is still great and the most fun I've had with UT, but as a higher level player with no motivation to start up a new character things got extremely stale for me.
Essentially I suicided for the first 11 or so waves in an attempt to get a piercing weapon and then attempted to survive for the remaining waves. It was either do that in an attempt to win the map for the rest of the players or just play to get on the high score table. Obviously you don't want to cater to the higher level players, but I remember when there was talk about allowing weapons other than piercing to do at least a moderate amount of damage for higher level players, I was dissapointed when that talk died down.
I'm only one person, but for me the game became stale when the only chance I had on a map was to get a piercing weapon. Putting so much into levelling a player it was dissapointing for the game to become one dimensional like that. Even the new engineer class and all the great mods that Dru, Bot, Szlat, etc. are always coming out with weren't enough to keep me playing. But, this is just one man's opinion.

Why not....ina way....make a ' piercing skill' you cna buy ..for anyone...but for Lvls 100 or maybe even 200 +...and then add a lvlv eveyr lets say ..20 lvls?....
Its jsut one thought...porlly impractical..but a thought...
