Hmm I seem to have trouble playing whenever i play a map on single player offline... after a few minutes of playing, the game suddenly crashes and exits. I Don't know what it could be I haven't tried playing online yet due to this. My computer isn't top of the line but it isn't that old either it can handle UT3 fine and Crysis so I don't think it has anything to do with the graphics card. Maybe its my windows vista operating system? Well I don't know but it gets pretty annoying when I'm playing and suddenly it exits. And it seems to happen every time I play. Sometimes I don't even get to finish a map... (Sigh) oh well

there was a recent fix for a crash problem with some applications.

if you open steam, go to file, top right corner, click on it.

a list will show, second down on the list is check for updates.

Click that one.

(please don't think I am trying to be snide, I have to tell people how to navigate menus over the phone all the time and never know their relative level of computer knowledge).

You should see me on the phone with my mother telling her how to change the TV from cable to computer input using her 4 remotes, she gets frustrated, I get frustrated and by the time we get netflix on her big screen she is ready to chuck the whole thing off the balcony.

Yeah thanks for the info though... helped a lot no more crashing problems well at least for now. I needed steam actually and the updates came with the installation and took care of the problems. Thanks

Yep, it's unfortunate. I think Live games can be cross-platform, but I heard that Microsoft has some sort of player matching making system that all games must adhere to. I guess Valve isn't a fan of that. Or very many other systems for that matter... ::grumble grumble:: PS3! ::grumble::

Gamestop is selling L4D2 for $29.99 today and possibly tomorrow with free shipping on purchases over $25. With tax that's about $32.00 for a game that's only 2 weeks old and was selling for $50.

I am new to steam so not sure how it exactly works my name is painclf (which should be Pain[CLF] ) CLF or cybernetic life form (Cylon )
